Congratulations, Salty! Sounds like your chances of remaining cancer free are excellent. Here's to a lifetime of 0s, brother.
Biopsy: Diagnosed March 25, 2007. PSA 3.0. Gleason 6. Five of twelve samples positive with <5% each. No perineural invasion seen.
Surgery: May 21, 2007, Florida Hospital, Orlando,FL
Post-op Pathology: Upgraded to Gleason 7 (3+4), negative margins, negative capsular penetration, negative seminal vesicles, lymph nodes left intact, multifocal perinural invasion, 15% of prosate involving cancer in both lobes. T2c
Continence/Erections Out of pads at five weeks. Fully continent and can achieve erections.
Post Surgery PSA: Five tests, all <0.1
Family history: Great-great grandfather died from PC. My Father had his prostate removed at age 67 in 1997 and has had an undetectable PSA ever since. I was diagnosed at a much earlier age and had a more agressive cancer than my father. Go figure.

Hey Kris...yes we have come a long way in a very short period of time.  We are on the good side of the cancer thing and the chances are very great that we will stay that way.  But I must say that I envy you for your lack of a continence problem.  Some are lucky and some not.  Dr Fagin told me going into the surgery that based on my 4+4=8 Gleason he was going to go inside me and take WIDE margins.  The result was great for ridding me of the cancer but I think it had a great effect on my incontinence level.  I am down to 3 or 4 pads per 24 hour period now and do see a light at the end of the tunnel.  Hpefully it will not be too much longer.

With best wishes to you and yours...I remain

Thanks Everyone for your kind remarks.

Billy Mac I am not sure what the free PSA significance is other than just showing that it was undetectable like the regular PSA.  In a previous post with Krisp we kinda researched it a bit and found no real significance in the test for post-op.  Apparently, the significance lies in its pre-op info to the doctor.  My Dr's office had it on the PSA script so Quest ran it.  At any rate I am still glad it was undetectable.  I remain
