Can your body become tolerant of Cialis or other ED meds to the point you need
to increase dosage or where it is no longer effective?

Age 59, psa 4.7 in Jan. 08. Biopsy: one positive sample out of 13. 1% of one sample cancer. Prostate removed on 3/5/08. Nerves spared. Cath out 12 days later. Continence good. No pads needed since 6/10/08. First PSA: Less than 0.1 on 6/17/08. First erection five days post op and have been improving well since then. Full erection now possible (less than four months post op) with the assistance of Cialis. I am pleased with the progress so far. Married to same wonderful woman for 39 years.
She is still beautiful and sexy as ever. A great help in my recovery !!

I hope not!

I actually have the same question about injectable medications, though... I think I have heard that some people have experienced this.

pharmacist said yes related to the trimix. initially i was using .03-.04 cc and now i am using .06-.07 cc

42 yo. now

5/07 PSA 4.65 at routine physical
6/07 biopsy positive for cancer...Gleason 3+4...diagnosed at 41 y.o.
6/07-9/07 manic research and interviews with physicians across the country in search of the "right" decision.  I went to Mass General in Boston, Loma Linda, University of Chicago and Northwestern.
9/17/07 - Radical Retropubic Prostatectomy Surgery at Northwestern Memorial in Chicago by Dr. William Catalona.  Thankful the father of the PSA test was right here in Chicago.

Post op pathology was Gleason 3+4 with negative margins, no seminal vesicale involvement, no lymphatic or vascular invasion, bladder and urethral free and tumor volume was 5% of 27.3g.

9/27/07 - Catheter removal...let the games begin...

12/07 - Threw out the pads.  I only had to use 1 pad per day for protection against minor drips.

I started Trimix 8 weeks after surgery with success.

I hope someday I won't need injections, but I hope more that my PSA stays at 0 forever.

How long was it before you had to increase the dosage?

All have to ad to your post is that you are a very lucky and blessed man to have full erections t 4 months mark, you are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of the curve and almost a miracle having that after a prostate removal...i had my nerves spared as well an only after 10 months i start feeling some progress, and now at 13 monhs have usable erections with the help of medications, i do not take them regulary , only when needed , i wake up sometimes with full erections as i was pre op, which is good news, if you can acheiv erections without any medications it wold be better to try and deminish them slowly regardless i getting your body used o them or not...
Good Luck !! and keep us posted

Yes I am very very pleased with the progress I have had. I do get the 80% erections without meds and full blown erections
with 10mg Cialis. I  have noticed with only have taken 5 doses of the Cialis, I can get better erections even without meds.
I was thinking of taking the 10mg, (20mg cut in half to save cash), daily. The dose does work for me well past 24 hours. This will keep me "ready" as they say, all the time. But I do not want to do this if it will cause a problem with the Cialis becoming not as effective.
I am hoping that with more time I will not need the Cialis at all. But it works like gangbusters for me without any side effects.
I am happy that you are doing so well also. When I was about to get my surgery, I thought full erections and normal sex was history for me. A great surgeon and by the grace of God I have come a long way in a short period of time. :-)

Having med free erections is my goal and I feel like I am on my way to that goal.
But for now I am getting good "mileage" from my Cialis dose. Their claim as to it's lasting
effects seems to be right on. I have been able to have three firm erections within a 24 hr
period each one resulting in normal intercourse. It is almost like cheating the dose nono   but at
about 5 bucks a dose, (20mg cut in half) I can justify the cheating. tongue
