:-)  Hey Everyone, It's been awhile since posting but we're here and reading so much lately on PIN Dx. with biopsy that the update on Rod's path. report really seems to fit in! Ist psa results today 0.00 YEA and rescheduled in 4 months. MD told us he was baffled by the path. report: "some sites of PIN";this was the repeat path after no findings came back on path. #1. We are fortunate and grateful but really confused too. The side effects of RP are here for a while; surgery is a big decision. We are really hoping for focal tx. to be perfected for others in this situation. Always checking in and hoping the best for everyone here. Annie

dx. 3-08  @ age 63. gleason 6 . 1 out of 12 cores positive. 4th biopsy in 8 years. previous 3 negative. followed closely due to family hx.grandfather, father and 2 uncles dx. with prostate cancer. dre negative, cat and bone scan negative. davinci scheduled for may 27, 2008. 2 daughters, retired hospital administration, air force family years ago. Davinci on May28,2008, both nerves spared. Catheter removed in 8 days, pathology report revealed precancerous lesions. Presurgical psa was 5.9, 1st  psa scheduled for August.

So happy the PSA is zero.

I too am diagnosed with PIN. I'm doing deep research into PIN right now. If you are interested I have a bunch of info on my blog in my signature.

Jim
I am age 47 - Father, Paternal Uncle and Maternal Grandfather had/have Prostate Cancer.
Father 74 years old, PSA = 10.6 Gleason = 5 + 5 = 10 (very aggressive) and high involvement in all cores. Seed therapy is the only option. Father died cancer free.
06/04/08 - At physical DRE normal, PSA test returns 4.4
06/20/08 - First Urologist visit. DRE and ultrasound finds nothing conclusive. Doctor says biopsy is the only safe way to go. Prostate volume is 40 grams.
07/11/08 - PSA test returns 4.1. Scheduled the Stereotactic Transperineal Prostate Biopsy for 7/21
07/21/08 - Had the biopsy.  Not so bad but sore on day 2. Back to work tomorrow
07/23/08 - Pathology comes back NO CANCER DETECTED!
08/01/08 - Urologist calls and says Prostatic Intraepithelial Neoplasia ("PIN") was found in my biopsy
