Hey Guys.  There will be a Urinary Incontinence and ED Seminar at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas on Thursday the 21st of August, at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Dennis Holt.  Former drummer of rock band Kansas and a PCa survivor.  I do not know what UI or ED issues he faced but he must have had some to be a speaker.  The phone number for more info is 214-648-0202.

I will be there for my AUS surgery.  I may try to make it just to see what is said.

KW,,

Dennis Holt spoke in Dallas back in June at a same kind of seminar.  I heard him then.  My AUS/IPP surgery was already sceduled, but it was very, very informative.  Dennis had a "double prostatectomy", the only one I've ever heard of.

He had the robotic, which left part of the prostate in him, so they had to go back with open surgery to get the rest.  He suffered the worse incontinence of anyone I have ever heard and he shares all the frustations with that and his attempts to regain erections... the same struggles many of us have with repeated failures.  His penile prosthesis and the new sphincter solved his problems.  However, he recently had to have a male sling installed to correct some new leaking.  Acording to him, that procedure worked to make him dry again.

There were Q & A's and he was very, very explicit about how things were and how things are today.  I would encorage everyone with similar issues to hear him.  He travels from city to city with his message, financed by the AMS and local clinics, such as Southwestern Medical Center.

I may try to attend the seminar again.  If so, I'll look you up if you are there.

PS. I am to go in Monday for my devices to be activated.  I have had some issues with my incisions healing.  Hopefully, everything is better and will not hinder my activation.

KW & Gene,

I was reading the board and saw your posts.
Thanks for the information on the seminars.  I may be in the Dallas are near Southwestern at that time.

At 18 months post -surgery (I had blood drawn for a PSA yesterday.), I'm back to my pre-prostatectomy life (albeit with ED) and don't get to visit chat rooms much these days.

I often think of all my old friends here fondly.
I thought of KW just yesterday when we were looking for someone to weld stainless steel..... cool

Best wishes to both of you on your AUS surgeries!

Sincerely,

ICTHUS!
