I was just going over my pathology report this afternoon.  The Dr went over the report with me a week after surgery when I had the catheter removed but I just requested a copy today.  There were a couple of things I saw listed that I have not seen much info about on this site or anywhere else. One was prostate sixe 4 x 4 x 3.1 - cm.  Included with this was "sectioning reveals a 3 cm yellow granular tissue extending to the mid posterier margin".  I am assuming that this is some of the cancer that was found.  Also stated was that it "extends to the apical margin and involves both right and left side.  All the other margins are benign".  My questions are based on the relative size of the prostate is this a large amount of cancer?  What is the possibility that the cancer has spread outside the prostate?  I hope this isn't too confusing.
Thanks

Hi Indiana,
Another 44 year old...that was my age at Dx. I would not be worried about it much unless it shows back up. And even then, there's a lot you can do. You prostate size is not abnormal. No one can answer your question on whether this spread. But I can tell you, that you have to get back to your normal routine as best you can. There are many here, where the cancer had definately spread...like me. I am doing well, and so are many others. Stay positive! And stay with us. This is a great forum.

Stay positive. Indiana, don't worry too much about what the report says, the reports are difficult to read and to understand. ........You are young and strong and you will get over this...Get on with your life, and forget about it until your next appointment, and then forget about it then also...Your numbers are quite good....Di

Divo, Tony,
Thanks for the feedback. I have probably been trying to over-analyze my situation. I'm pretty well back to normal. But you guys are right. Get on with life.

Thanks again
