Dear all,

Today, my husband passed away very peacefully. In spite of his illness, the final parting found me unprepared and I am devastated at losing him. It is difficult to imagine life without his strength, tenacity and sense of humor. His loss created a huge void that will be difficult to fill. Among the many eternal values he encouraged was courage to take life with all its joys and sorrowful moments.

I take small comfort in the fact that, at least, he is out of the pain and discomfort of the last few months of his illness. Being the independent spirited person he was, he remained cheerful through it all.

Dutchy,
You have my heartfelt sympathies for your loss. No matter how much we see these things coming and think we are prepared, it is devastating when we actually lose those we love. I know full well the empty grief you feel, but know that he will always be there----- in your heart and the hearts of all those that he loved and who in turn who loved him.

Dear Erlien,

I cannot express how deeply I feel your loss and pray that you may find solace in knowing your husband will no longer suffer. In so many ways I have felt a connection with you and your husband as our journeys have been so similar. I pray now that you can find strength in the coming days and that you are surrounded by those who love you and have shared in your love of your husband.

I will keep you close to my heart.
