I just wanted to update everyone on my brother.  He had a PSA of 16 and a Gleason score of 4+4.  On Sept. 2, 2008 he had the da Vinci procedure done.  Originally he was going to go with the cryosurgery but after doing alot of research he decided the robotic surgery was best for him.  So far so good.  His lymph nodes came back clean as did all the other results.  He goes back in 2 weeks for a PSA test and the doctor said it should be 0.0.  His only problem has been severe swelling.  He still is using a cathater because of this but should have that removed in 2 weeks.  I will post again after his next follow up.  Best to all of you!!!
Age: 59
Gleason: 8
PSA: 16
Did have biopsy, CT Scan, bone scan and other tests and they all showed it has not spread outside of his prostate.

good news lilsis and thanks so much for posting. please keep us updated as to his condition. Some swelling is normal so I do not think there is a reason for alarm yet. The great thing is it was confined to the prostate so hopefully now that he is on the other side the healing can began and a new chapter in life can be opened.

peace and love
