Hey Gang,

I needed to start a new thread because Good News for Biker got too long and will be locked soon.  A short synopsis of that link is:

I've had PCa (Stage II) since November 2006, had surgery and zero PSAs since.  In May 2008 I developed lung cancer (also Stage II), had surgery and am currently in chemo therapy.  I don't post details of the LCa here on this forum but use Jim's Page to do that.  The link is in my signature below.  Thank you all for the tremendous support you give me.

Here's the link to Good News for Biker if you want to look at it:

Hey Folks,

There's lots of new people showing up here on HW and that's good. Seems the word about the best PCa site on the web is getting around. Welcome aboard and sorry you have to be here. Let's get well together...

I finished cycle 2 of chemo for LCa last Friday and updated Jim's Space with a few details. Again, I wore a pad for a couple of days due to some leaks caused by the chemo but that's over for this time. Seems like PCa has to get its licks in where ever possible but we forge ahead through the tough times so we can get to the good times...

I agree Jim keep pushing forward you are a huge inspiration to us all. I do not know why we have to deal with cancer, but since we do I would rather do it with friends.

peace and love

Dear Jim

I have sort of disappeared from this forum for personal reasons, although I keep my thread on proton treatment updated quarterly when I have my PSA tests. I did some checking around the forum today and there are so many new names along with an old favorite (and that is you). I am deeply sorry to hear that you have had to deal with lung cancer after the extreme challenges you faced in conjunction with your prostate cancer. Life is not always fair. You have shown such great strength here in this forum in conquering the obstacles that have been throw in your path; this has given great inspiration to the many who have come here to seek help, comfort and solace while fighting their prostate cancer. I hope and pray that your treatment for lung cancer will eradicate it and that you can get back to a vibrant happy life again. Good luck and all the best. May God bless you and look after you.

Hey Dave,

Thank you sir for the kind words. I have every confidence that my treament plan for lung cancer will give me the best possible chance to live a while longer.

With so many new people coming to HW, I was glad to see your proton post get bumped to the top. The work you have done will help others to make better choices. I hope life is good for you and to see your posts here again soon.

Good news Jim,
Take it easy this weekend and enjoy the games. Spoke to Bluebird this week and we keep thinking of you regularly. Sure was nice to talk to her and have her tell me about her trip to see you. I'll see you around.

Jim, thanks for updating us and it's always so good to hear from you. it was good to hear from Dave, too. I find myself not coming here as often as life is busy and PCa is now in the background of our lives, but I do miss chatting with everyone. I know you will beat whatever life throws at you! take care and God bless, kat

Thanks Pontiac, Tim, Billy, Tony, Kat and all you find friends. Your strength and encouragement are my mainstays in this fight.

Chemo #3 has caught up with me and I'm really tired but know what to expect and what to do about it. Another week and it will lift.

Let's get well together,
Jim

Hey Folks,

One more chemo cycle to go - a week from Friday. The last one was the worst yet for side effects but I made it through and feel pretty good now. They are changing meds (not chemo) next time to make it easier.

Today was MaryLu and my 53rd wedding anniversary. We went to dinner and decided to take a trip after chemo and before the first CAT scan. That way cancer doesn't get the chance to screw up a good time. (Too much of that already.)

Anyway, gotta go. It takes me a while to get on top of things...

Happy Anniversary to you kids, go out and have a great time, you certainly deserve it. You continue to be an inspiration to cancer survivors here and I'm sure to anyone who knows you.

Chemo is OVER!!!

I had the last infusion this afternoon and am really glad to have the lung surgery and chemo behind me. My first CT scan is on 12/2 and will get a post-treament prognosis then. Talk about a nail-biter.

I want to thank all of your for you support during this time. You have pulled me through the hard times and now we are headed for the good times.

Let's all get well together...

Hi Jim

We are thinking of you - and glad the rough times of chemo have come to a close. Have been really busy this last 6 months, and posting just a little these days, but think of ya often! Will be with you in spirit on 2nd Dec, and hoping it is a lucky and positive day for you (that is also the date of my daughter's birthday, so we will not forget). Love to you and yours.
