I am now 3 months post radiation and I went to my family doctor for my yearly blood work up for cholesterol etc.  I received a call from my doctor staying my white cell out is very low and to stay out of crowed environments and not to get a flu shot.  I will be seeing my oncologist in December and will review these results with him.  My question is has anyone else had a low white cell count 3 months after radiation and is this normal? After doing some reading on the internet I found that a lot of radiation oncologists monitor your white cell out during the radiation treatment.  Mine was not monitored and am interested if anyone else had theirs monitored. I guess this is why I have been feeling tired, thought it was still the effects of the treatment.

Thanks  Bob

Thanks Bill, I had not seen any posts where anyone has had low white cell count after radiation.  I will be talking to my doctor about it on December 3rd.

Bob

During my salvage radiation they didn't do any blood work to monitor along the way and I just had a follow up in October and everything was ok. I have been out quite a bit lately and not able to follow a long as well but here's hoping your next test is a good one and less then .1
