Can anyone tell me if there is a link between Lupron and Parkinson's?  My father has taken lupron shots for prostrate cancer for 17 years. He was also treated with radiation after his diagnosis.
He has been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's.  Long-term side effects of Lupron as noted by the urologist are muscle weakness but the balance issues are not.
Any links or info would be appreciated.
Thank you.
God Bless you all.

I haven't heard anything about a link between Lupron and Parkinsons. However, I think it is very encouraging that your father has been on Lupron for 17 years!! Keep us posted on your findings!

I know some of the strangest things!

Parkinson's runs on both sides of my family so I've read some on the subject from time to time. What I have read is,
Lupron is sometimes known to improve parkinson's symptoms via relief of its antidopaminergic effects on one of the other neuro pathways. Hope this is of some use.
