As I suspected, the procedure was very similar to a biopsy from a patient's perspective - i.e. not much to it.  Took about 5 minutes from start to finish.

I told my wife I now glow in the dark.

The transponders that are now inside of me will help guide the radiation beams.  Radiation begins January 28.  Must wait for insides to heal up, just as I had to wait after biopsy to have my surgery last year.

Dan Man

I just had the Calypso Beacons implanted yesterday. I am excited about this technology and hopeful that it will minimize the side effects of radiation. I initially chose the robotic prostatectomy with Dr. David Lee, but Dr. Lee had to abort due to adhesions. After learning about the Calypso Localization system, external radiation was a logical option to pursue. My planning session is next Thursday and I will begin treatments the week after. I will keep you posted.
