hi everyone. I wanted to post this because we have to have some humor in our lives, right? Jeff and I always used to laugh at the ED drug commercials where they'd say if your erection lasts longer than 4 hours, seek medical attention. Then after being diagnosed with PCa and having surgery, Jeff would say "if only that could happen!" well, for some strange reason (maybe the holiday celebratory mood) he decided to take 2 Levitras instead of one, and yes, he had an erection for over 4 hours. he didn't have multiple orgasms and I finally told him to take it elsewhere. he kept saying we need to do something with this! it was pretty funny. anyway, I hope this doesn't bother anyone - I just wanted to share some laughs with you.

May this new year bring all of us great health, peace and prosperity. kat

Hi M. Kat,

I have always said that if you get a 4 hour erection you should call the Guiness Book of Records! Your post gave me good laugh.

Keep in mind-> "There are some men who don’t want to go to the doctor or an emergency room, but they should know that it’s a potentially serious condition which can result in permanent erectile dysfunction if it’s not taken care of.” http://bodyodd.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/09/10/1374031.aspx

I was concerned about 4-hour erections when I first started injections. However I needn't have worried.

To be a medical problem, the erection has to be rock hard at four hours -- this means that there is no blood outflow. Apparently there is pain too. Those of us injecting who still have soft and declining erections at four hours with no pain have no cause for concern.

A four-hour erection with Levitra is something to celebrate -- it means you are well on the road to recovery!

I have only had one that lasted 4 hours, the first- a Caverject Impulse 40mcg. injection. Rock hard at the end of 4 hours and steadily getting more aching and painful. I walk to Walgreens at midnight in the snow and 3 Sudafeds took care of it. I've been very careful since then not to overodse it. smilewinkgrin

How about six hours and a trip to the doctor (on a Saturday!) to aspirate all of the blood stuck in there? It was not pretty. Sex didn't help. A brisk walk didn't help. The Sudafed didn't help either. What a mess. My husband can kind of laugh about it now, but whenever the physician's assistant discusses injections now, my husband starts shaking his head. I wonder why?

The condition is called Priapism -
This is the condition that did me in. I had a reaction to coumadin and the result was a erection that was incredibly painful and resulted in total impotence - plus a month in the hospital and almost losing my life. So , just a cautionary note to anyone thinking of doubling up on your ed dosage.

Hey Kat,

My first Trimix injection resulted in a 6 hour boner and it was the dose that the doc recommended. (MaryLu was worried. I told her it was probably going to be permanent.) Needless to say I cut the dose in half next time. Then it only lasted 4 hours. Cut it in half again and finally got a good hour with no pain.

I'd like to find a uro that has been through all this stuff himself.

Hiya, my dear Kat!!!!
4 hours? If only you could send me ten minutes (which would be quite enough in the old days....LOL)

Jim, I'd even settle on permanant...and oh what a legend I'd be...LOL Like you my friend!

I may see some action in the summer! Yes!!! I envy all of you...

Once I watched an adult xxx movie for "research development" only. I wondered how those guys lasted so long.

Art, A few years ago we were in Naples Italy, and went to the National Art Museum..They had erotic art from !st century Roman. A paintng of Priapas was the main draw. He had a member that was four feet long! That is where the name came from.... Sorry about your trouble... Diane

Gee Di, 4' long? you could hang a lot of wet bath towels on that one. Sure it was a picture of a bull or elephant. My fellow is still in a deep level coma, if it wasn't for having catheter tubes through its center, wouldn't even know it was still there. Hope he wakes up one day.

Today was my day for the overzealous penile injection. I had had a very pathetic response on Wednesday with bimix solution at 20 ml, so I was hoping today for something a little better for my wife and I. I had some trimix left over in a vial (switched to bimix to decrease pain of trimix) which was almost expired so I figured it wasn't that strong anymore, injected 23 ml. BIG MISTAKE. I did have a good time with wife for about 3 minutes and then I paid the price for the next 3 1/2 hours. Big and painful. Trimix is definately stronger than bimix, I'd forgotten that. Thanks for info on sudafed, I'll make sure and have a supply in the house, no more trimix over 15 ml for me...................

Don't get 'A Dick-'D Ted' to this phenomena, anyone been called Studly Do Right? Is this a one Gun salute, that doesn't get dismissed.
Is this like the fight in the dog analogy, but with better living thru chemistry????
Are women jealous or do they have a 4+ hour drug deal for them????

Glad someone else can inform us of the highs and lows on this, I can imagine this reaching 2000 level responses or readings!
