A while back, several guys got into discussions on pumps they liked. I looked in the resources section and could not find it. My uro has told me to use one for ten minutes a day. I remember someone talking about having one that was so light, that they could pump up, then take a shower, shave etc with it on. All the pumps I have seen look far to big and cumbersome for that. He wants me to work on getting erections without meds. He thinks I should be able to do so with a more aggressive approach.
So, if anyone knows of a light pump which would fit this bill, please let me know.

I was looking at different sources for these pumps, manual and battery. Why in the world are they so expensive? Doesn't look like there is $25 worth of material. Or is it just another case of where companies like to exploit the sick and soak the insurance companies?

Paul . . the Vacurect pump is light weight with no attachments (sliding action of two cylinders is what creates the vaccuum). The other thought is even with the pump itself off, the ring could be left on through a shower.

Paul, I don't know of any pump that is light enough that would let it cling to the body. I do remember saying in a past thread that my process was to pump up a few times to stretch things, then to pump and put a ring on to hold it erect while I showered, shaved, etc. That may be what you are remembering.


David, they are expensive because the expensive ones are paid for my most insurance companies, so they jack up the price. In my case, I have a prescription for the Osbon VED, $540. However, my insurance will first take off my annual $200 deductible then pay 90% of the rest, leaving me with the $200, plus $34 out of pocket. Here's how to see if you are covered. Call your insurance company and ask them for the coverage benefits for reimbursement of CPT Code L7900. This will be listed as an external prostetic device. They will tell you what they will pay and what you will.

There's alternative that are much cheaper and does the same job as the more expensive ones. Here's links to 2, not recommending anything or any site, but these are cheapest and representative.

The ErecAid Classic Manual ($150) and the Encore Impo Aid Manaul ($78)

Thanks James, this stuff is all new ground for me, surprisingly, i don't have an opinion. lol.

btw, my signature is now down to 7 lines at least displayed on my laptop, dont think i can go any smaller

I have my post op evaluation on February 20 when I also see the ED nurse. I suppose she will recommend a pump. My question is why not go to an erotic store where they sell lots of different types of pumps. Don't these pumps do the same thing. Wouldn't **** and erotica put our minds in the right place to help with erections. Just thinking out loud grasping at straws.

A big caution about the cheap adult store pumps. First, they are cheap and may not last but a few times. Second most are not medical grade and most times do not have the built in vacuum release valve to keep you from over-vacuuming (pumping). If you choose one, look for something durable and be very cautious when using to not over-vacuum. That can cause some major damage. A couple guys here have used them, so some are workable, but just be really careful. Another reason is they may not come with suitable rings or suitable ways to get ring on to your penis once pumped up.

I have used several of the adult bookstore pumps. A very serviceable one cost me $27. I broke the tip where the rubber tube attaches when I dropped it on a hard tile floor in the bathroom. The second one I forgot at my summer home, the third I threw out when I moved cause I just did not want to risk having someone find it! They are perfectly fine and have cool names that will make you laugh...besides they come in colors like Red, pink, blue and black. The ones i saw all had quick release valves and worked really quite well.

The ones with the cuff that goes around the base of the penis are the best - as opposed to the ones which simply press against your body....those can suck up testicles..OUCH! The pump that the nurse showed me at the Dr's office was this last type. I told her I had heard about "things" getting sucked up. She said, "Yeah that could happen, just be careful." I'm going to go shopping for one myself.

I probably am not remembering correctly...It probably was the pump up - leave the ring on and shower thing.

Gentlemen - thanks for your suggestions. As always, this place is rife with princes.

I bought mine On-line about two years ago.  It worked fine then and is still doing fine.  It was a manual pump and the price was ( I forget?) about $40.  I was shocked at the huge price tags on the pumps that are "insurance approved" such as the Osbon Erecaid ($375.00).  It is a sick, sad scam that should be challenged whenever possible. Rip off is the best word I can think of.

The one I bought was called an Encore manual pump.  I see that the online price is about $78 now. Don't buy the real cheapies, but something like the encore should do fine.  It works for me, still after 2 years.

WOW! Isn't that the truth?
I wish I had seen this link two months ago. I bought one of the Augusta manual pumps through a sales rep who was referred by and met me at my doctor's office, and it cost me almost $100.00 more than the price listed at the above website ... and that was AFTER insurance (the total quoted cost was about $495.00).
I'm going to try the pump for awhile without taking Cialis, and if it works out, I'll consider myself lucky to have at least saved on the cost of the prescriptions.
