Good luck to all you gents. This is my first time on - of course since I have prostate cancer.
My doc in Vegas recommended that I have a ropbotic prostatechtomy. but that I go to the Chairman of Urol at San Diego Univ.

Waiting now for a consultation date. I am very concerned about incontinence and ED. Think I am getting stressed out now as well. The waiting gets me nuts.

Perhaps you should look at the results of many protocols, maybe read some abstracts on patients like your stats and how they did 5-10 yrs. later doing whatever treatment type, such information is out there if you search and look for it. Ask you surgeon doc if he minds if you get a second opinion on your own doing, non-referred. Anyway good luck in whatever you choose, it is wise to know all the normal or possible treatments now when you can have choices on them. Get a copy of your pathology report in your hands (it is legally yours), then post the information herein and also learn what it means or says.

Fred-
Welcome to HW. We know where you are and you will find good information and good company here. If you get a chance consider adding your stats. It helps to understand exactly where you are. I hope your journey is not too difficult.

Welcome Fred,

The best source I found for a very broad description of benign and cancerous issues and treatments is Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer by Patrick Walsh, I recommend it.

Best wishes.

Dale,
After so many pages the threads automatically lock and cannot be unlocked. One way to keep it alive is to link it in a new post and ask again...
