I have had Colorectal Cancer Radiation, Chemotherapy and full Ostomey Surgey August of 07. Prior to the surgery my erection was an inch longer and 2.5 inches wider in girth as it relates to my current Trimix induced erection. Has anyone else experienced such a size difference whether it's Trimix or any other ED treatment? I want to know what I can do, if anything, to get my full erection back. Any suggestions?

Mine have gone downhill consistantly and I now have curvature to the extend that normal positons just do not work. God bless my wife who insists it is not an issue for her. I should note that the trimix was very painful early on so I have been using bi-mix but I did experiment again with tri-mix and the pain is gone.

The erections are pathetic.

Scott - What have you tried or has your urologist recommended anything that could get that "old", full erection back. Did you have a Priapism episode?

I am sans local urologist at this point and need to find a Dr. who can work with me on the erectile issue. You are right to ask and let me thank you for saying so. I need to find a Dr who can help me with this issue. I have had some extended erections with the injection therapy but none lasting over a few hours, and none requiring professional intervention.

Thanks for asking Conti, I need some help here and your post has pointed that out to me.

Best wishes. Scott.

Hi Scott - Did the quality of your erections deteriorate after surgery or radiation or both?

Can't really say Conti, as the period between surgery and radiation was only 3 months, but it is my impression that the radiation had the biggest negative impact.

I haven't noticed a decrease in length or girth with trimix/bimix, but I have definately noticed an increased curvature over the 4 months since robotic prostatecomy. My curvature is still mild but I am watching it closely to see if it gets any worse. I have 2 more months of "penile rehabilitation" to go,  ie small dose Viagra and 2x/wk bimix/trimix solutions. After that I'm just going to try and use a big pill of levitra, cialis, or viagra to try and get away from these injections to try and minimize further bending. In terms of treating the curvature of penis my surgeon wasn't very helpful, he did tell my to take 800 units of Vitamin E/day which I do now, but that was about. Through my own investigation I found out there is a device you can wear on your penis a couple hours/day over 6 months to "stretch" the curvature, caused by scarring, out of your penis. This is not a wacky idea and is recommended by respected urologists. The urologist who recommended was even on TV, on that nauseating show "The View" talking about. Its called the extend device. I hope I never have to use it because it looks like a lot of work to use it, I may just give up the injections before I do that............prostate CA survivor

I have been using either Bimix or Trimix at least weekly and most times twice weekly for 14 months and have no sign of any curving or other symptons. In using the mix, I get a fuller and harder erection with Trimix as compared to Bimix. It appears that the length and girth is the same as before surgery.

Thanks guys. But now I really feel screwed. When trying to find the initial, workable dose of Trimix, my Urologist gave me a "Full Insulin Syringe". 1cc. That resulted in a return visit 3 hours later and required 4 injections and a painful "Squeeze Down" process by the Urologist. What could have been damaged during this process? My current Trimix erections are stiff enough for intercourse but the 7.5" girth (measured by circumference) and 7.75" lenght (measured from pelvic bone to tip of penis) are gone. I live in San Diego and also want to know what type of Medical professional deals exclusively with issues like mine? This is not a macho thing. My wife and I have always had a very passionate and satisfying love life. The passion is still there but obviously I feel different to her and I don't have the sensation or ability to have those intense orgasms that produce ejaculate. If I have to live with it, so be it. No implants for me. I just need a Pro to assess and provide a diagonosis. HELP!

Now that's bad news. Here's some links to help in your search. Some Urologists are ED or impotency specialists, some other MD's specialize in it. These are some registeries.

www.healthcentral.com/erectile-dysfunction/websites.html

www.urologychannel.com/erectiledysfunction/index.shtml

www.urologyhealth.org/find_urologist/html/listurologists.asp a list of Urologists who specialize in ED.

www.mayoclinic.com/health/erectile-dysfunction/MC00060

If I knew your location, I might be able to dig up some definite names.

Hi

My experience was somewhat similar to yours when I first tried the Caverject in Oct, 2008. But since I have been using Caverject, then Edex and finally Trimix; I have returned to pretty much the size I was before. I was also alternating with Viagra and Cialis when I didn't inject. I now use Levitra and Viagra on alternate days and inject at least twice a week.

My theory is that you need to fill it up with blood every day of the week.
