I bought an Encore VED pump and started experimenting with it. I have several question regarding its use and its results. How often is it safe to use? I've been using it once or twice a day just to get the blood flowing into my penis. On 2 occasions I tried using one and 2 rings but I don't think the penis was rigid enough for penetration. Is this normal? Does the rigidity improve over time? Am I not keeping the pump going long enough? Should I be using a smaller ring?

Once or twice a day should be perfectly safe. There are two aspects to VED use:

1. Getting a full erection while in the tube with vacuum still applied. If a bit lacking at the moment, this aspect should improve with regular use.

2. Keeping the erection long enough for intercourse. This is where you will need to adjust the amount of constriction -- enough to keep it firm for long enough, but not so much that it hurts or turns purple and falls off :-) I use office rubber bands with my cheapie pump -- you may find they give you more variable adjustment.

As with any new exercise it takes a bit of practice. I will mention that my wife hates erections produced with the VED. I won't go into reasons -- I got censored last time. So I use the pump only for exercise, and rely on injections for the real thing.

practice and patience - Jeff's doctor told him to use it every day. eventually he figured out which ring to use and how much to pump it in order to have intercourse. it was a pain (no spontaneity, felt rushed to hurry before the erection went away, sometimes did hurt his penis) but it's what we had to do at the time. it will get better.....

This web page will show you a constriction BAND which is basically a wide rubber band which is stretched and folded over the VED tube. I gave up on the rings as they stretch out quickly.
If you add a simple string loop to the constriction band this will make removing the constriction band easier!
Like Piano I use the injection method which works very well for me over the last Decade. The VED is handy when I don't want an erection by injection  that lasts for 45 minutes. Best wishes, Al
