after radiation

 HELLO ALL
 MY HUBBY JUST GOT HIS FIRST PSA TEST AFTER RADIATION IT IS .4
 HIS LAST READING BEFORE THE RADIATION WAS .24
I,M SURE I HAD READ THAT THIER CAN BE A RADIATION BUMP WHEN IT COMES TO THE   FIRST FEW PSA TEST .ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT . WE ARE STILLWAITING ON HIS TESTOSTERONE TEST.

it sounds like the relapse was outside of the target area of the radiation. One form of radiation therapy targets the lymph nodes as well. (WPRT or Whole Pelvic region Radiation Therapy). I had that form of treatment and it is said to be much more effective. If it continues to rise you might ask the RO if that was what he did, and if not can it be done. Also, you might also get a second opinion on the radiation actually performed.

But stay positive. I was in my RO's office yesterday and we talked about this in a general conversation. Another test will be looming soon, so don't worry too much about it yet...

HT began in May, '07 with Lupron and Casodex 50mg (2 Year ADT)
IMRT radiation for 38 Treatments ending August 3, '07
Current PSA (May 11, 2009): <0.1

I guess I should clarify that.
WPRT is the practice of radiating the prostate bed and the pelvic lymph nodes as well...
