At last my follow up 3 month appointment has come through from Addenbrookes, England. Booked for 29th sept, should have been 3 months from surgery (18th May) Hospital is so busy all consultations running late. Any way had a blood test at my local hospital to check Urea and electrolytes and the all important psa level, and I`m glad to say all ok with psa being less than 0.1, which is the minimum reading they go to. I can now look forward to the next 3 months with not too many worries. Pretty well continent with only a small dampness very occassionally. ED still remains, but I`m more concerned with recovery and will sort ED later.
Diagnosed February 2009. Gleason 6, Psa 7.2, 12 core biopsy, and then Mri scan, which showed organ specific.
DaVinci at Addenbrookes, Cambridge, England 18th May 2009.  Nerves removed one side.
Catheter in for 8 days, no pain, no post op problems apart from an infection, cleared with antibiotics.
Some aching around the penis, which still occurs.
6 week psa 0.1, post op pathology all good, confirming pre op tests. Ed a problem, no treatment as yet.
Light ladies pad during the day, just to control a slight dampness and a Tena for  men pad at night for occassional leakage.
Awaiting 3 month consultation at the moment.
Sept 09 - still awaiting consultation. 99% dry during the day, tena pad at night just in case.

Hey dogbot that's great news. And to make you even more happy I'm checking with Air Canada for a flight over. Wife, children, aunts, uncles, and assorted hangers on will join in. Presume you have room for us all at your place. Can't stay long --- need to be home for Christmas.

Been to Canada a couple of years ago, travelled from east to west and ended up in Victoria. I would really love to visit again and perhaps do a cruise up to Alaska. Accommadation my end for all your lot would be a problem as we only have a very small house. I suppose you could bring a tent. wink wink   All the best.

Tenting will be fine --- we're Canadians after all. To most of us a tent is like a five star hotel in London is to the rest of the world.

Sorry to have missed you on your trip across Canada. We've done the Alaska cruise several times and loved it. Let me know when you can make it and perhaps we can sail together!
