I haven't been on the forum in several months, but remember some discussion earlier this year about experiences with Caverject vs. Bimix/Trimix. I've been taking 100 mg Viagra for several months, with the pump, with no results. Doc had me trial MUSE today--not an experience I want to repeat, and I let him know that. It didn't work (we started with the lowest dosage) but felt like a hammer to the crotch for several hours. Next step is injections. He says he starts with just Caverject, if that doesn't work moves to Bimix, then Trimix and even mentioned a Quadmix, but said he starts with the minimal medication and works up. Can anyone refresh my memory on experiences with the different injection drugs? Thanks.

Caverject is alprostadil, which is also the ingredient in Muse. So any discomfort you had with Muse will most likely be the same or more intense with Caverject. Bimix contains 2 drugs- phentalamine and papavirine, usually stated as 30mg/1 mg per 1ml. Trimix contains these same 2 drugs, normally in the same ratio, but with the addition of alprostadil, usually expressed as 20 mcg or maybe 10mcg, as 30/1/20mcg. This Trimix formulation usually does not cause any aching or pain in most people. Used at the normally low doses that most guys need, around .1ml to .2ml there is less chance of the more painful aching and pain than from straight alprostadil. Trimix is the stronger of the 2 drugs, which means it takes less, but normally costs close to twice as much. But it goes a lot farther per vial. Figure a normal trimix dose of .1ml will usually take .3 to .4ml of bimix.

Here's a link to some threads that's got lots of info you can use to catch up on the while deal.

Yes, Caverject or Edex will both give you lots of pain if you had problems with MUSE. It does work wonderfully well but the pain after a couple of hours is unreal.

I switched to Trimix after a couple of months, it gave me the same effect but with almost no pain. Still have lots of Edex syringes left.
