Yo!

Some of this is from my signature:

Age: 53 6' 0" Weight: 170 Caucasian

Rising PSA over the last six years (from when I started being tested) from 3.9 to 5.2 to 4.6 to 4.5.

DX with PC in January 2009 after biopsy. Bone scan--negative

Consulted Cedars-Sinai Beverly Hills urologist--recommended surgery
Consulted Cedars-Sinai Beverly Hills radiologist--recommended IMRT
Consulted San Diego Cyber-Blade doctor--recommended treatments
Consulted Long Beach radiologist--recommended IGRT
Consulted Loma Linda radiologist--recommended Hypo-fractionated Proton treatments

Insurance approved any treatment I wanted.

Consulted Marnia del Rey urologist Dr. Scholz who performed a Color Doppler test.
Dr. Scholz referred me to Dr. Bahn for a second Color Doppler test because Dr. Scholz saw some things he was not sure and/or happy about.
Dr. Bahn did a more through testing and didn't see anything that was cause for alarm.
Scholz and Bahn recommended Active Surveillance, some diet changes, and steady exercise.

In May 2009 I revisted Dr. Scholz who suggested sending my biopsy slides to Aureon Laboratories which didn't find anything overly suspicious.

Today, November 3, 2009 I had an hour and a half consultation with Dr. Scholz who performed another Color Doppler test. Things looked the same with nothing suspicious so he suggested I revisit him again in six months. I'll get my latest PSA results in a few days.

I'm happily doing Active Surveillance and with my level of prostate cancer I'm convinced I made the right choice.

All that's required of me is a quarterly PSA test, Hepatic panel, BMP and CSC; a healthy diet with little or no animal products; moderate exercise; and a positive attitude.

If you have more questions, please feel free to ask.
