Got some Levitra 10 mg samples from the Dr and had minimal success
and wondered the following:

Do you get a better erection on the 2nd time or thereafter when taking this med.?

Is stronger mg better? If so has anyone ever taken multiple 10 mg(2) pills
at same time?.

Does it work better in the morning?

Thanks,
Jack

Jack,

Did you recently have a prostate problem ?

How long have you had ED

20mg is the full dosage so 2x10mg is ok

Once it wears off you are back to square 1, Cialis has the longest half life, Levitra is gone after 6hrs

Some people say that you need four or five tries with an ED drug to be sure

Take it on an empty stomach (2 hours after eating) and avoid alcohol.

Remember that with any ED drug you still need stimulation -- more is better and also remember that the most important sex organ is the brain and so ED worries can be a "downer"
Age at diagnosis 66, PSA 5.5
Biopsy 12/08 12 cores, 8 positive
Gleason 3+4=7
CAT scan, Bone scan 1/09 both negative.

Robotic surgery 03/03/09 Catheter Out 03/08/09
Pathology: Lymph nodes & Seminal vesicles negative
Margins positive, Capsular penetration extensive Gleason 4+3=7
6 weeks: 1 pad/day, 1 pad/night -- mostly dry at night.
10 weeks: no pad at night -- slight leakage day/1 pad.
3 mo. PSA 0.0 - now light pads
6 mo. PSA 0.00 -- 1 light pad/day

I am 65 years old and have had heart problems over the last 6 years.
Due to the heart problems sex was put on the back burner until recently.
From the age of 25 through 50 I had lots of prostate attacks but haven't had
a problem in a long time. My urologist had me on the on the Caverjet 40 mcg injections
which worked well if you didn't mind the injection which are not that bad. I would like
to find a pill to replace the Caverjet if possible. Recently tried the injection but wasn't successful.
Might just have to keep trying due to the long period of abstinence?
Haven't seen Urologist in 3 years as he was just writing scripts and not much else..

Jack,

It may be best to try taking 20mg of Levitra at night, at least 1 hr after you ate, then go to sleep. Your nocturnal erections should kick in which will help to awaken the nerves

You may want to try this either every night for a short time or every other night

The vitamin supplement L-Arginine is also beneficial as it aides in increasing blood flow, you can get approx 3g of L-Arginine from eating 1/4 cup of walnuts and the Omega-3 also can help your heart

Charlie,

Do a google search on 2 different things

1) L-Arginine ED

Then

2) L-Arginine Walnuts

Lots of great reading, grab some walnuts while you are searching, they really do help

I am three months out from Davinci. I have the best result when I take the 20 mg Levitra on an empty stomach or close to empty. Usually Take it about 1 hour before sex. The big bummer is having to plan with the wife but that is better the nothing!

Lots of talk about L-Arginine being a big help in this area but doesn't
our body produce enough?

I have no experience with tablets or injections as I have been able to get erections.
But don't be fooled by my profile into thinking I got it all fixed.

Any sexual activity or attempts at activity still take a lot of planning, and that tends to spoil the mood, if that is the mood even exists in the first place, as I/we seem to be in daft the situation where the "equipment" just about works

but we are always too tired or busy to try and use it.

Cruelly ironic!

The use it or lose it message isn't getting thoprugh, so it's clearly very much about the six inches between your ears as well as the other inches.

And I've been buisy eating Brazil nuts! Did I get that wrong? I don't like walnuts. Why did I think Brazil nuts were meant to help?

Hi Hipp,

L-Arginine is a conditionally essential amino acid that is provided by some of the foods we eat. To answer your question, our body MAY make enough depending on if we ate the correct foods containing it. But it dissipates quickly from the body, meaning your levels vary greatly during the day

If you eat a few walnuts each day , then you have more of a chance that you make enough for a period of time. If you are a body builder then you would take 12-18grams a day to help in blood flow to create muscle mass. If you have High Blood pressure, your Dr may ask you to eat more foods with L-Arginine to aid in lowering BP

L-Arginine in part creates Nitric Oxide in our bodies, to get it through food is easy, grab a few walnuts

Dang it!  Out for a walk today and decided to stop at the drug store and pick up some L-Arginine based on this thread.  Could help, can't hurt, right?  Couldn't find it, and then wasn't 100% sure of which 'L', so picked up L-Lysine.  mad

Will have to go back sometime, I guess, or pick up some walnuts at the grocery.  Well, the Lysine should be good for collagen and connective tissue, etc.  I guess I'll finish out that bottle too.

hipp0409,

There are 4 ways (maybe more) of getting L-Arginine

1) Is food based, like found in many nuts especially Walnuts

2) Supplement called L-Arginine
3) Supplement called Arginine AKG much better absorption than simple L-Arginine pills
4) Supplement called Arginine Esther Ester ( fastest and best absorbing version but hardest to find)
