1st I will talk about my experience with HT and radiation after surgery. But then I have to moderate your post due to your signature length.

I am understanding that HT during radiation is a common sense move since it is now general understanding that HT enhances the performance of radiation quite a bit. The noted improvement is as high as 50% better performance of radiation in high risk cases like yours and mine. I believe that you should think hard about it.

OK, now I have to talk about signatures. Our website has a limit of ten lines per signature in the rules. Our Admin has allowed the prostate cancer forum some levity in this because you really can't summarize a journey with prostate cancer sometimes with ten lines. That stated, we can't abuse this either. I have a suggestion and that is for you to start a thread with what your current signature has in it, and then link that thread in your signature. This will get your story in each of your posts without making it difficult for readers to follow the threads you post in. Thank you for understanding.

Bolla study suggests that hormone therapies maybe 3-5 months before doing radiation is the way to go (neo-adjuvant-? before radiations), abstract showing much improved survival rate on patients. Rad-onco/docs may say no casodex during radiations (fyi) in case you as a patient are using that, either alone or with ADT1-2 drug(s). Hopefully a well informed rad-onco-doc and/or in conjuction with PCa onco-doc can shed light on what might be best in your particular case. Docs do not all agree on various PCa protocols.

You could even do hormone therapy 2-3 months prior and quit, do radiations, monitor psa closely and you might be doing well by that, may not be totally necessary to stay on hormone therapy and especially stay on longer term not a great thing, many patients can do intermittent even with bad cases. Bottom line alot of ways to combat PCa. A lot of patients using different paths with various results, to add to the confusion.
