I don't know if this has been posted before but it is an excellent explanation of staging of PCa.

Hey Bill,
This article by PCRI is a bit out of date. This synopsis is based on the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) year 1997. AJCC2007 is the latest staging protocol. The primary difference since AJCC1997 is stage 3C. Stages 3A and 3B in AJCC1997 were combined to 3A in AJCC2002. There is no stage 3C anymore as it is now 3B. Additionally, there is recent discussion of tossing clinical stage 2C out completely and making it 3A as well.

There also is chatter to eliminate any distinctions in T4. Thus all T4's should be considered equally...

Just from my notes...

PS: If anyone would like the cancer staging manual by AJCC, it is easily obtained on the net.

How are you going Tony,
I remember your posting of the staging changes some time back but while some of the earlier benchmarks have been combined and/or renamed I thought it was a pretty good colour depiction of what staging actually means, especially to the newly diagnosed. Take care and best wishes,
Bill

I am doing well, Billy!
I always hope the best for you, too. Yea I have mentioned these changes before. It's confusing enough to be here without them changing all we learn. But it's all good. I hope you are doing well...
