...Well its twelve months to the day since I had the Prostatectomy..was a nerve sparing laparoscopic...My surgeon said that the nerves came off easily...In his words ...They peeled off nicely...After a year on the old ...emotional roller coaster,I am coming to terms with it all...at last.....I miss my ejaculate very much...And have to keep telling myself ...Its better now,its better now...no mess,no mess,no mess.Penis is shorter by 20 %..My limp state is particularly bad.I now have a foreskin...Balls, however are larger....One day I will accept...Psa reading is good.....That's what its all about eh!......Erection can be gained, but not enough for normal coitus...Need some very intensive stimulation for this to happen...Have to think of all my fantasies  all at once.....Get a good erection with Levitra full dose, but it makes me depressed the next day...Viagra full dose is nearly as good and leaves me feeling very relaxed with no depression.and sleep like a baby....Orgasm has changed in that I can have many mini orgasms and then no bang at the end...just a sort of weird release at the end....If I move quickly from foreplay to climax then Orgasm is good...Sometimes better than before....The good thing is that the whole event takes a lot longer ,as I do prefer a longer session..Prostatectomy may be the ultimate cure for premature ejaculation....So I am very glad that I have a reasonable amount of function. after a year.. Maybe the pumping has paid off..It has taken a year to get here....Maybe some improvements as time goes by.......Any members fell free to email me....Jack...ps I have found this forum to be invaluable over the last year, both in terms of factual information and emotional support..

Hi Jack,

I'm 7 months out from open RP. I consider myself very, very lucky in terms of bladder control. Was dry almost immediately after catheter removal.

ED? Another issue altogether. I tried the big 3 oral drugs and all I really got was a headache. I'm now on Trimix and it is waking junior up. I haven't had anything useful for intercourse yet. But, I believe once I get the dose right, I'll be OK.

Yep, junior is shorter. I thought with all the pumping I was doing that I would regain or keep a good flaccid size. Seems I hit a bump there. Orgasms aren't what they used to be, either. However, after a couple trimix...I have to say it's a big improvement...for me.

So far, I'm cancer free and in full control of my bladder. I miss the old days but, the cancer seems gone for now.

Mike

Started having sex again about 70-75 days after my open surgery, mostly delayed by prolonged catheter time. It took a while to get use to the "dry" as opposed to the "wet". But my take on that, it was all in my mind, and I had to just flat out accept that it would never ever be the "old" way again. At a little more than a year out, I don't miss the "wet" part nor ever think about it.

Orgasms after surgery s tarted out weak and distant to me. But within the first month being sexual again, they grew both in duration and intensity. I can honestly say that it is a deeper feeling than at any point in my life prior to surgery. It is different, for sure, but it is very good. Seems to satisify my sex drive better, more now of less often, but better when I do.

Right now, post SRT, I am still too very sore in my entire abdomen and penis areas to even want to have sex. The thought is there, and perhaps the nature desire, but if I even begin to become errect, or have too much of an erotic thought, it hurts.

As soon as I recover and heal from the radiation, I am hoping to get back into the game.

I think you will find quite a variety of answers on this subject from the guys, and of course, we are talking about a very personal and subjective area.

No matter to what degree you can eliminate ED after treatments and/or surgery, the hardest part is accepting the fact, that no matter how good it is now, it will never, ever be the way it use to be. That part is harder for some to accept than others. Unfortunately, that is what comes with a dx and treatment of PC.
