Well, its kind of coming down to just 2 issues. The jury will be out for a few months to come as far as seeing if my salvage radiation was effective or not, that's just going to take some time to see.
The other, of course, is getting the SP cath removed, having my bladder neck "re
opened", and dealing with a Foley cath for a few weeks at the most to give my bladder a chance to heal. My point was, if this next and hopefully last corrective step to free me of the need for catheters fails, then I want to see if there is any higher level expert that might have some exact expertise with this kind of problem. Part of it is that it is a low % group of guys with an ongoing problem like this.
Still have some lingering post radiation pains, which can be significant at times, but my rad. oncologist said that may linger for some time to come, i.e. weeks or months, until my body re-coups from that, along with the fatigue that came with it. Not much I can do about
that, but have some more patience in healing from that part.
I see your surgery is coming up in just under 3 weeks. From Sonny's experience with your surgeon and at that hospital, sounds like you have a first class ride ahead of you.
I hope it goes smooth. I must admit, its much better to be on the recovery side, then all that anticipation is past tense.
