Hello, I just found this site and I may or may not have posted this in the right forum. Seems like there are some trimix users so I thought of posting here. Anyways.... I've had diabetes for 7-8 yrs and have had ED for just as long. No prostate issues yet. Tried the V, C and L pills and they slowly quit working. I saw a uro asking about trimix and he won't prescribe it because it is not FDA approved. He did give me Edex(alprostadil) to try. I've use a 40mg dose 3 times now(once in his office) I get erect and it lasts about an hour.  However, once I climax, I loose it. Also I've noticed that when I lay down it goes down too. Standing is best. Obviously I have to work on timing issues with my partner. What I'd like to know from the trimix users if climaxing has any effect.  Everyone seems to talk about 1-2 or even 3 hour erections.  Another question is how would the L pills work with Edex? I have some left but are afraid to try it because I don't want a 4 hour erection. Does the L-arginine help? I have some of that too. Thanks a bunch!

welcome to Healing Well. Once you climax, do you want to stay hard? Otherwise, it sounds like a pretty normal functioning erection. Yeah, standing is best for a lot of guys. Just means you have to change positions for a while! This could lead to some fun! Anyway, usually with trimix, the erection continues long after orgasm.
Just as an aside, I really might look for another uro. Trimix is pretty well a proven product. find a doc who will let you try it. You also might be a candidate for Trimix Gel? who knows.
Again, welcome

Paul, Thanks for the welcome. Yeah I'd like to be able for round two. I know that the wife likes long sessions so being a two pump chump is not the best.

Don't Diabetics have issues with blood flow to their extremities...Round two would be nice - but if it costs you both legs or your life ... you might think differently.

As Steve points out, having ED resulting from diabetes is a whole different ballgame from our experiences with ED. Our problems are results of surgery, yours the result of disease. Two whole different processes. I'd be careful as to whether I would deliberately go against the docs advice, but I would also consider seeing another Doc who is familiar with diabetes and can give you a second opinion on your questions and issues.

If you are looking for a more general ED site, with other diabetics. Try Franktalk.org Yes, it's mine, but it is a steadily growing group of guys dealing with ED of varied causes. You might find some thoughts there.

I have used Edex for about 6 months. I couldn't take the aching pain from the alprostadil and so my Urologist switched me to Trimix. But a 40ml/cc Edex dose would have made me hard for over 4 hours and going to the ER. Trimix has never come close to having the same effect.

I have discovered with both types of injections that after I climax, if I am flat on the bed, that the potency goes away. But if I immediately stand up and walk around for a few minutes, it comes roaring back. Something about the blood flow.

You are very lucky to not have to deal with the alprostadil pain.
