Here is a response I received to an email I sent to Coloplast, makers of the Virtue sling. This person is in Marketing. Actually this is a bit more detailed than what I have learned from some of the doctors, especially the part about
leg spreading etc. but it is common sense I guess:
"Yes, it is important to allow for proper healing of the sling before doing anything strenuous. I am not a physician, but the general guidelines we state in our instructions are at least 6 weeks without too much stretching of inner thigh (squats, rollerblading, etc), lifting anything heavier than 5 pounds, or even simple things like being careful getting in and out of cars that you do not spread your legs too far."
