Dear HW Forum, PCA brothers and sisters

I think David (aka Purgatory) deserves recognition for his unique contribution (even if he thinks he's just one of us)

perhaps a new description above "Veteran Member" for passing 5000 posts (which he did a while ago already).

Purgatory I salute you!

Ditto.

He redefines the phrase “is a real Trooper.”

And then there’s the part about: “there but for the grace of God go I.”  And “I” don’t know that I would have made it as far in the journey.

Thanks Guys, but it is still true, I am just one of the guys, we all have the same PC we are fighting, our journeys can be similar and different at the same time. What is easy for one man, can be difficult for others. As far as the number of posts, let's just say being unemployed leaves me a lot of time on my hands, so it's obvious I have more time to check the board. Second, I am a writer, so this is the best medium for me to work with. Thirdly, I really believe in our brotherhood here, its not just words to me. I feel alive when I am here with our PC brothers and the sisters that join us. I feel every hurt, every pain. I laugh, I cry, I cheer, I boo, this place makes me feel very in tune with what we battle. I never feel alone when I am here.

The terrible cancer battles I fought in the past, non-PC, I fought almost entirely alone, it was so rare, that there wasn't anyone to compare notes with, and it was a lonely battle. Outside my lovely wife, there was no one. My kids were too young to be involved at that time.

Peter W. has done a great service by providing Healing Well, not only to us Prostate guys, but to all the groups that are supported here. He is the one that deserves credit. If this place suddenly shut down one day, it would be a great loss to thousand of peoples with all kinds of ailments.

I think we have great moderators too. I love all the brethren here, even the few that like to get under my skin. The only hatred I have in my body is directed toward Prostate Cancer, and how it changes our lives forever. Every guy here has a story of fortitude and courage, mine is aggervating, but not all that special.

I plan to keep on being here, and helping where I can, and learning from others. Yeah, I give, but I also take.

Ave Purgatorio! Respondi te salutamus -

Hail Purgatory! We who are about to reply salute you!

.. and me here for 5 years and only 165 posts!!

I put forth this old joke as an explanation why:

The old joke: Some kid who never spoke a word until one day at the dinner table he says "Soup's cold".
His parents are astonished he is capable of speech: "What did you say?"
He repeats: "Soup's cold".
They ask: "You can speak! All your life, you never said a word. Why?"
He answers: "Up until now, everything's been alright".

Purg, Let's see... 24 hours per day times 365 days per year equals 8760 hours per year times 2.5 years active in HW equals 21900 total hours divided by 5312 posts equals one post every 4.123 hours since you joined the group. WOW! Unless I did my math wrong (highly likely) that is Really Impressive! Even if I did my math wrong, that's still impressive, IMHO!

Hang in there...

David,
I'd like to drink a beer in your honor but it would only end up in my pants within 30 minutes.
Instead, I'll just say Cheers! To your health!

Thank you Jake, I said back in the beginning days of my PC journey, that if PC is going to take me down, it won't because I didn't put up a heck of fight on the way out. As long as I eventually find out my Salvage Radiation worked, I will be okay in my head. The stricuture problems have been very prolonged and painful at times, but its something mechanical that I can understand in my head, and at some point, there should be a solution that suits my body's quirks.

Jeff, I would buy you the beer, and can give you a bunch of pads I still from the past unused as a free present. Thanks
