Congrats!!!! Getting by those first 2 years of PSA test are the most important. Your chances of being in the zero club for ever is excellent.

PSA 5/2008- 3.6, PSA 7/2009- 6.1, retested 9/2009-5.1.
Biopsy 9/2009. 4 of 12 positive. Gleason 3+4=7
CT and bone scan negative.
Robotic De Vince Surgery 10/29/2009. 1 night in hospital. No pain. Cath out on 11/6
Pathology Report: Gleason score 3+4. Margins slightly involved <.1mm to .25mm. Perineural invasion present, stage pT2c. Tumor 18%. Seminal Vesicle - absent, Lymph Nodes 0 of 6.
Continence- first 4 weeks after cath out Dry at night, rest of time, bladder held nothing. 6-7 pads per day. as of 12/30 no pads most of time. almost dry except for a few drips. I keep doing Kegels.
ED. Started VED on 12/17/2009. Every other day for 15 min. Cialis .20 mm twice a week
PSA 02/08/2010 <.1
02/22/10 Trimex injection .2ml less than 50% just a little discomfort.

As a guy from Cajun Country, you should treat yourself to some Crawfish Etouffe and some number of Dixie beers.

Age -67 PSA - 4.5

Biopsy  (9/4/09) - Positive in 5 of 8 cores. In those 5 cores, 5 of 11 samples were positive. Gleason 3+3=6. Stage – T1C  Ct and Bone scans negative.

 

BT performed on 12/11/09. 84 seeds of Palladium 103. Surgery at 7:30 - Home at 12:30 same day with no catheter. Blood in urine for a week. Side effects as expected -  some burning, frequency, urgency.   Resumed daily  1 ½ mile walk after 3 days. Side effects have subsided some in the last week.

 

BT followed with 25 IGRT treatments beginning Feb 15 (4500 Gy's).

Ok Joe67 How you know about Etouffe and "Dixie" Beer. I love crawfish but alergic. Will have to stick with Oysters and Shrimp. MMMMMM

Jeff, P.S> On your signature, after it says "Path Report", even in SC, GS 3+3 does not equal 7 like you state ,lol. Must be a LA thing.

Sure you either meant 3+3=6 or probably 3+4=7, like you were pre-surgery. Just helping my buddy out.

Congrats!!!! We are awaiting our first zero today in the mail, since we have had no phone calls yet (a good sign).  95% of the time the mail is here by noon, not today. . .

Treated for sciatic nerve pain 6 months prior to dx.
Heavy amount of blood in urine Unable to urinate 
Lung x-ray for pnumonia revealed multiple lesions in each lung
P.S.A. at time of dx. 3216.14
Began lupron and casodex
Cat scan showed large mass in the pelvic area affecting the bladder multiple nodules in both lungs and lymph node envolvement.
Bone scan revealed possible bone involvment in the pelvic area
Biopsy 12 of 12 cores positive gleason 3+4=7
P.S.A.s since lupron 2946, 1274, 532, 5.01 1.23, .09
Begining jan 08 psa .o9, .25, .44, .86, .73, 1.34, 1.49. Doubling time is a little over 3 months
Cat Scan 12/12/08 Prostate normal size and shape. No tumors detected. Left lung clear of all nodules right lung showing only benign scar tissue. Lymph nodes normal
Bone Scan 12/24/08. Clean!!! went off casodex January 4 2009
Current psa 2/13/09 .16
Latest P.S.A. 0.05 newest P.S.A. undetectable

PSA (2002) 2.1. (2006) 3.5.  1 x 5% core of 12 positive at biopsy. Open Radical Prostatectomy with nerve sparing April 2007 Sydney, Australia. Gleeson 3 + 4 = 7. 2 small multifocal lesions. Contained. Undetectable <.1 PSA since: June 2007-0.01, Oct 2007-0.02, April 2008-0.02: Oct 2008-0.03, Nov, 2008-0.02, April 2009-0.03. Next PSA April 2010.

OK OK David Going to fix the profile. My biopsy came back as a 3+4 =7 and the Surgery report came back 6+6=6.. I think I got it now.

One too many Dixie Beers!

Re-read of slides in June said Gleason 3 + 4 same four cores 5% to 15%
June 29 daVinci prostatectomy, Dr. Eric Estey, at Royal Alexandra Hospital Edmonton one night stay
From "knock out" to wake up in recovery less than two hours.  Actual surgery 70 minutes
Flew home to Winnipeg on July 3 after 5 nights in Ramada Inn  ---  perfect recovery spot!
Catheter out July 9
Final pathology is 3 + 4 Gleason 7, clear margins, clear nodes, T2C, sugeron says report is "excellent"
First post op PSA Sept 09  less than 0.02
PSA on Oct 23 test again less than 0.02
PSA on Jan 8 less than 0.02  
Oct 1st 09 -- dry at night, during day some stress issues.

Routine physical at PCP office, with DRE and PSA Test. PSA 2.5, small growth felt on right side 

Urologist performed TRUS biopsy 9/17/09,samples sent to Bostwick Labs

Results received from lab indicated PCa 9/24/09

8 of 12 samples 80% Gleason 3+3+6, 6 of these on the right side

1 of 12 samples 70% Gleason 3+3=6

1 of 12 samples 60% Gleason 3+3=6

2 of 12 samples benign

CT scan and bone scan negative

Consultation at Johns Hopkins with Dr. Alan Partin 10/20/09

Open RRP at Johns Hopkins by Dr. Partin 11/06/09, right nerve bundle removed, left spared

One night in hospital, back to hotel room for three days before flying home

Foley catheter removed 11/16/09

Post-surgery pathology shows PCa was organ-contained, lymph nodes negative, seminal vesicles negative, Gleason score 3+3=6, stage T1b

First post-surgery PSA first week of February 2010. Using one pad during day and one at night as of 1/28/10

No luck with the erectile dysfunction.  Taking 50mg Viagara 3 times a week.  Doctor prescribed 100mg daily beginning 6 weeks after catheter removal, but I can't put up with the headaches and congestion. 

2/5/10 First post-surgery PSA - <0.01

Pathology report:
Prostate weighed 57 grams size:5.2 x 5.0 x 4.9 cm
Posterior lateral lesions measuring 1.5 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm showing focal capsular penetration over a distance of 3mm in circumference.
Prostatic adenocarciroma accounts for approx. 10-20% of the hemisphere.
Gleason 4+4
both nerve bundles removed,
pT3a Nx Mx, Negative margins
seminal vesicles clean, lymph nodes: not dissected
continent after 4 months
8 weeks PSA test 4/7/09 result <0.1
5 months PSA test 7/9/09 result <0.1

Jeff, if you don't want to try to decipher the coding, just write down what you have, deleted the signature and rewrite it, hopefully without the error in it.
