I previously posted that I went from squirt...squirt...squirt to new annoying symptoms.
Basically, I would have a normal pee and then have to keep returning to the bathroom every few minutes expelling a few drops from the urethra. It was annoying as can be.

Anyway, this started about 3-4 days after I started the Viagra (25 mg daily). On a hunch, I stopped the viagra. 2-3 days later, my problem disappeared...TOTALLY. I was completely dry. It didn't matter how active I was. I went to work and didn't need a pad.

Okay, so I restarted Viagra a few days ago. I am starting to just now notice a return of those symptoms. I'll wait a bit and see how it progresses, but if the symptoms are back, I'll stop the viagra. If the symptoms disappear again, I'd say I found the culprit.

63 years old . PSA-- 3/08--2.90; 8/09--4.01; 11/09--4.19 (Free PSA 24%),  after 45 days on cipro! DREs have always been normal. PCA-3

Biopsy on 11/30/09. 5 out of 12 cores positive. Gleason 4+3. 2 cores were 3+3 (one 5% and the other 30%) on one side. On  other side:2 cores are 4+3 (5%)--1 core 3+4 (30%) no peri-neural invasion. prostate is 45 grams. Stage: T1C.

Surgery with Dr. Menon at Ford Hospital, 1/26/10. He says all looked good. Spared nerves. Unfortunately: Pathology Report: G 4+3 (65%-35%). Cancer in 15% of gland. Lymph Nodes: Clear.  Perineural Invasion: yes. Seminal Vessical Involvement: No.  Extraprostatic Extension: yes.  Positive Margin: Yes-- focal-- 1 spot .5mm. Final Weight is 52.7 gms.

Incontinence: joined that club-- definite leaks—1 pad/day. Night is dry, was  using 1 pad at night for security, but pretty much dispensed with that most nights. Update: no pads at night. No pads while at home, but still very uncomfortable. Use 1 pad for out-of-house activities. Suddenly got MUCH better on 3/10/10, almost overnight. Still some urgency but no pads about 90% of the time.

Next Event: First post-op PSA on 3/10/10--DRUM ROLL: 0.01

All three of the ED drugs make more blood flow through the nether regions...which is the same region where your bladder is. It won't hurt to try the others....But odds are you'll have the same side effects...Then again, drying up will get better in time too...What's a guy to do.

Mel, i read it as without the Viagra, you won't have erections that will work as a scotch to keep you from rolling out of bed. See also- waking up sleeping on a rock, etc.

Scotch: something placed to hold something in place, popularly as in scotching a tire or placing something to prevent the tire from rolling. If this isn't what he meant, I'd like to hear what the explanation is also. smilewinkgrin

Mel..........I think Goodlife is trying to say that by removing Viagra, you'll remove the likelihood of your.....er.........um, "kickstand"
preventing you from rolling out of bed.
I think in time you will dry up, and even if your PDE-5 is the culprit now, it won't effect things down the road

"Ball Park Frank" plumping at this point......ED at 10 months continues to improve, albeit slowly. Continued daily use of 100mg Viagra (ADC). Discontinued pump use; manual stimulation to varying states of erections; achieved penetratable erection on a couple of occasions----At 13 months, nocturnal erections are frequent. Still taking 100mg of ADC Viagra nightly. Libido still in the dumper, but working on it with doctors.
