Hi everyone, anybody have a mild, uncomfortable pain around belly after Davinci surgery - I'm 4 months from Davincy - 49 year old- PSA zero - 1 fairly dry pad per day - No ED problem - just little uncomfortable pain around belly with 5 cuts from last surgery. I have requested doctors to give me all kind of tests from  blood test. urine test, stool test, Ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI - all normal that mean it is good news but don't know why this mild pain still bother me all the time?  is this normal and how long it will go away - hard to do any extra excercise as I want.

Thanks

I had discomfort for several months that they associated to the internal stitches breaking up as they dissolved. The doc said it could take up to 6 months, although I would say it stopped being a real irritation about 5 months out.
Yesterday they did point out some staples and the like that showed up on the CT from my radiation prep work, but I can't say they have bothered me, and no one was excited about it.
But then I now know there are no loose surgical tools in there either ;)

Sorry you're aching. You might though be relieved to know you're not the only one, as I still have similar pains/aches to the ones you describe near my navel and the big scar.

I mentioned this problem at my check-up on 17th march and the area was examined (i.e. prodded). Nothing to worry them was found, the suggestion was that there is some scar tissue inside me that is taking a while to mend itself fully (The scar on the surface hurts a bit too) It could also be the connective tissue that got pulled about.
While it has improved since the early days this last final bit of aching has not really got any less for about five months. It doesn't feel much good when I do any abdominal exercises and sort of feels like it gets worse if I spend too long sitting at a computer.

I had a CT scan yesterday and nobody let out a shout so I guess they did not see any left over instruments etc in me!

yeah Thanks, Alfred, Hope this pain will be gone soon! some time it make me very tired! I read every where in many forum and not many people mention about this pain -Incontinent and ED is the most issues they talk about and it make me worry - many peole do a weigh lifting, long running etc.. after 2-3 months - Why I can't do it??? I'm tired after 2-3 miles  walking! I used to play sand volley ball 1 hours a day at lunch. Now I just want to walk, run and biking only but still need to wait some more time for body to fully back to normal! Good luck to you and family. Look like my abdominal tissues and nerve system around belly need more time to be back to normal?  Very dry- 1 pad a day for little leakage -1st PSA check= Zero - No ED problem - hope PSA wil be zero for good!

It all depends on the Doctor and the extent of the surgery. I was on a walk a lot scheme until DaVinci +21 weeks.
But absolutely, positively no lifting over 5 pounds for 2 months, then 10 pounds (therefore no gym machines).
He said at the +21 weeks visit that upper body exercise was ok again, but I'm not a gym person, so won't be doing that.
By the end of +2 weeks I was up a regular 1 or 2 mile a day walk, weather permitting.
