11 weeks from DaVinci yesterday and today I think I am finally able to go with out pads (yes)
Have not been wearing a pad at night for about a week, get up at least once but I can deal with that. (I think Casey had mentioned that your mind has a lot to do with your continence with some people. )That's the good news now the bad about 5 weeks ago I had a urethral stricture at the tip of my penis, had it dialated with straight looking instruments called sounds. That worked for about 2 weeks and then had the same procedure done but this time with some curved looking instruments which caused more pain than I care to remember. Uro told me to self cath with these small little rubber tubes and and gave me a prescription for some ointment for the urethra. 1 1/2 weeks later which is today I can tell by using the self cath that it is starting to close again. The Urologist and I both agreed that the next time if this has to be done it will be as a day surgery. I'm afraid more is going to have to be done than just dialation. I'm calling Uro first of the week to discuss I don't want to wait till it closes more.

Seen my urologist this morning and on Wed. I'm going to have a Meatotomy (where do they get these names) Sounds like a simple procedure from what I've read about it. I will be out this time and maybe this will be the last time. Anybody here had this done?

Neal, good news on the going dry part. Bad news on the stricture part, welcome to my world. That's one of the troubles of a normal dialation, the opening up part can sometimes disapear again withing a week or two. Your doctor may need to do a small corrective surgery done as a day surgery with you being put under. I have had 5 of them. Sometimes they will do a hard dialation, something you would not be able to bear being awake. Sometimes with the scope in place, they will use a scapel device, and sometimes, they will use a laser through the scope to make a correction. If any of those are done to you, it would be normal to have to have a foley catheter for 3-4 days to a week or more, to allow things to heal up inside, so don't be surprised. I only hope you aren't following my dismal path on this subject. Hopefully the next one will be the fix you need.

Mine is within a 1/2" of the tip of the penis, I don't know if that is better or not. Just something else that PCa has done to me!

Neal, sorry about the "plug' problem, but as for the rest, it sounds like you're doing fabulously well. Thanks for posting this and I hope you'll let us know what you learn on Monday.

Neal, what a name, lol. Perhaps you have a massive weiner that requires a massive sounding procedure. None of my corrective procedures were called that ,but then all of mine was at the bladder neck, and yours is nearer the tip. Good luck, hope you have a pain free recovery from that, and more importantly, it gives you the fix you need.

It sure isn't after having surgery, you know we lose length from surgery. Of course it was nothing to brag about before. Funny name but that's what they call it. Here's a link with details. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meatotomy

Hey Neal

Great news about the zero pads, thats huge, seems like the nature of this disease, is that there's always one more hoop, to jump though until they get smaller and smaller. Hang in there Bud- Tim

T-dog as long as it sprays out to front and not to left on the guy's shoe's standing next to me, that would be an improvement.
