confused  I had Davinci a year ago...then 37 IMRT treatments starting in late OCT. During the course if IMRT to the present, I have had little in the way of side effects.
Have any of you had any long term side effects?  I have heard it can take up to 2 years before effects can surface.
Thanks for any response.

None here. I'm nearly 3 years out from salvage IMRT. ED from surgery was not worsened as far as I can tell. No incontinence from radiation, 99.9% dry.

I had a short term SE, radiation proctitis, but that is long gone.

Dx Feb 2006, PSA 9 @age 43
RRP Apr 2006 - Gleason 3+4, T2c, NX MX, pos margins
PSA 5/06 <0.1, 8/06 0.2, 12/06 0.6, 1/07 0.7.
Salvage radiation (IMRT) total dose 70.2 Gy, Jan-Mar 2007@ age 44
PSA 6/07 0.1, 9/07 and thereafter <0.1

Hello George,

I completed 45 IMRT treatments on 9/11/2008. The only side effect that I might attribute to RT is erectile disfunction. I am also on HT so I am not entirely sure that all of the problem is from the RT. I have not tried any of the ED drugs available. Have had modest erections on a couple of occassions but nothing to brag about. Other than that one issue I have gone about my life as before the treatment.

You are correct about the time frame for side effects to show up. I was told 18 to 24 months and I am between those two benchmarks. So far so good.

Best to you.

Hope my results will be similar. Already on HT since November, had open surgery in January and will be starting IMRT next Monday, May 10.
ED has been a problem for a year but at 71, I'm not too concerned about that right now.

I am nearly 6 months after IMRT w/o HT and although ejaculation is clear and viscous, ED has not reared it's "ugly" it were! I'm 74 and still able to "get it up"! I feel so fortunate. My partner is happy also. To all you great guys who are going through worse than I am...keep the faith and "keep on truckin'". Last PSA went from 9.5 to 2.6 in three months. Another PSA in early October. Cheers

Just finished IGRT a month ago, so I'm interested too in the long term effect reports! Four months on ADT2 with really good initial results, <0.1, for 2 years total planned.

The little guy is still functional with some focused attention, but with dry orgasms. Different, but quite intense. No idea what's created by what yet, but I imagine most of what's happening right now is from the ADT.
IGRT by IMRT, 44 done 8/28/13: 50.4 Gy pelvic nodes, 79.2 Gy prostate
ADT2 2 yrs: Lupron 5/1/13+Casodex 6/25/13

Age 55 @ Dx 4/16/13-
Bx 6/12 pos all on rt G9=5+4 (80%, 60%), 4+5 (2 at 100%, 80%, 10%), PNI confirmed
3T MRI: Bilateral EPE, NVB+, SV-, LN-, cT3

8/13 <0.1 (ADT, post-RT)
6/13 9.7
3/13 5.2 12% PCA3=31
9/12 4.1 15%
history since 2002 high/varying PSA, 3 neg bx

I am about a year and a half out from IMRT. So far SE not bad. Hemorrhoids are acting up a bit more. A little urgency from time to time and a bit of ED (the pills help).

I'll be in the shop.

I began having rectal bleeding about 8 months after SRT ended. This was a few times per week at first and gradually diminished over a period of 10 months or so until things returned to more-or-less normal.

I also had uncomfortable, but manageable urinary urgency during the last half of my treatment and for a few weeks afterward. This was especially when first standing up, but receded after a minute or two on my feet.
Age 67

-Post-surgery PSA low of 0.01; slow rise to 0.4 (August 2009).

-PSA 0.00 Apr 2013
