Anyone know what this means? I meet with the urologist 5/10 at 6Pm
"Enlarged prostate with prostatic calcifications extension of the carcinoma of the prostate on the right side of the prostate gland".
Plus calcified Aortic
You have an enlarged prostate (not uncommon for a 68 year old).
You have calcium deposits of the prostate. Prostatic calcifications, no matter what the pattern, do not increase the risk of prostate cancer. But their presence does not exclude the possibility of cancer. Your calcium deposits occur along with (as an extension of) your prostate cancer foci on the right side.
Aortic calcification is deposits of calcium on the aorta (causing a narrowing of the flow through the aorta), and may be an early sign that you have heart disease, even if you don't have any other heart disease symptoms.
Ger, I am not a doctor. Re-check my comments on May 10th with your urologist, and please let me know if I led you astray...I hope I did not.
