My son in law is 46 years old and lives with  my daughter in Indiana.  He has been experiencing a need to urinate as many as 6 - 7 times per night according to my daughter.  He has been to a Urologist and has had several tests.  My daughter tells me that he is now being treated for prostititis.  She says that his PSA is either .01, .1 or 1, (not sure).  Something here does not seem right.  If he does have prostititis, wouldn't his PSA be elevated?  It already seems very low for a 46 year old man.  What do you all think??

A PSA of 1 for a 46 yr old is exactly where it should be. Prostatitis does not always elevate PSA. I would think a couple round of drugs and see what happens. At least he is seeing a doc. but if drugs don't work, they need to keep looking. PSA does not tell the whole story as we know
