Hi: I am 50 years old, my husband is 55. My husband was diagnosed 3 years ago. He has been on lupron for 2 1/2 years and has had radiation. His starting psa was 106 and his gleason was 8. He had a bone and ct scan both were clear. After treatment his psa was down to .3. A month ago he had another bone scan as his psa had started to rise. The bone scan showed a met on his right femor. Not the news we were hoping for. It is tough for me as I want to be strong for him and our kids, but sometimes I would just like to talk to someone whos husband is in the same stage as mine. If there is a wife out there who would like to talk through emails that would be great. Just please only email if your husband is in a similar stage and if possible you are from Canada. It's okay if your from the States, but our health system is so different it would be nice talk to someone who is Canada preferably western Canadian.
I know this puts a lot of restrictions on who I would like to email, but it would be nice to talk to someone who is in a similar state.
Thank you so much for reading my posting. Contact me through email.

Good luck to you and your husband. Your personal need is well understood here. We have several here from Canada, and even from Western Canada, so hopefully through one of them, you can get hooked up.

55,
Hope that you get a response shortly, but also perhaps look at local support groups in your area or a counselor. We will keep your entire family in our thoughts and hope that you have many more years together.

Hi 55, I'm from Western Canada (the sign marking the geographic center ---or centre as some like to say here -- of the country is about 30 miles east of my home, so I'm in the west! --- Winnipeg) but, alas, I'm not a wife, and my PCa situation is different than your husband's.

However, I wanted to reply, say 'hello' and wish you every success in finding someone to talk to and every success to your husband in his battle with PCa.

There are a number of wives, and daughters, who are members here and while their men's situation may not match your medical need, I'm sure they'd be good support.

I hope the moderators don't mind, but I'm bumping 55's post as I'm sure if several of the wives here saw this thread they'd be in touch with 55

Hi 55,
Welcome to the forum, you will find lots of support and compassion here.  There is also a women's PC site you may try to see if there is someone there with s similar situation.  It is www.ladies-prostate-forum.org.  It is not a healing well site, but you can try it.  When you boil situations down, even if the symptoms are not the same, the root emotions can be.  Hang in there and keep reaching out to get what you need.
