That sure was a dumb article with an extremely misleading headline.

"Men who took erectile dysfunction drugs such as Viagra were more likely to become infected with sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS, U.S. researchers reported on Monday.

This infection rate was higher even in the year before the men got their prescriptions filled, which suggests the risky behavior came first, the researchers reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine."

Oh and I suppose is was the anticipation of a Viagra prescription that caused it. Jeez!

If you want to live like a p*rn star, you should plan on dying like a p*orn star.

I figure the guys on this site are safe.

I will take the risk if it makes Willie stand tall. However, doesn't seem to do anything for him. I wonder if I am still at risk ?

Oh my, what shall I do ? I might get a disease.

LOL.
This one is funny actually. Of course Viagra increases risk of sexually transmitted disease. Mainly because it increases risk of a sexual encounter...

The part that really got me was the statement: "This infection rate was higher even in the year before the men got their prescriptions filled." You can't blame Viagra for that.

Maybe these numbers can be manipulated to show the efficacy of ED drugs. At least that might make sense.

I'm not going to worry about it. It certainly does not apply in my case. :-(

Oh for goodness sake! I don't have the energy to go out looking for trouble anymore. Thank the Lord I don't have to take it anymore or the 50+ year old ladies would all be carrying a big stick to shoo me away. Besides, I kinda like my wife.

This reminds me of a college course in Statistics that I took some years ago. The professor was explaining how something may have a statistical association but no cause and effect. He cited a study done of the correlation between Southern Baptist minister's income and the cost of Puerto Rican rum. A very high correlation but no real connection. Must have been a slow day for the author.

Or how about: "Middle aged horn dogs engaging in risky behavior are 2x more likely to use Viagra than average."
And ADC has their addresses on file.

I just noticed your stats. Amazingly close to mine. I'd like to ask you a couple of questions if you don't mind. My email is listed. We should talk. Please.

Of course you should take daily cailis as the t.v. ad promotes, which would add to your statistical risk factors, probably in the fine print could cause blindness, hearing loss especially on hearing the word 'NO', might even cause cauliflower hand or johnson (LOL). May cause home floor structure damage from bouncing bed posts and such.

Remember to call your doc immediately for an erection lasting over 4 hours.....probably the greatest side effect mentioned sales campaign of all time.

Use under adult supervision (LOL).

ciaraa - the article  from a year ago (that is now gone) was trying to say - if you take meds like Viagra - you have sex.. If you have sex you increase the odds of getting a STD.

Or put another way - if you don't have sex you can't get STD's.

Someone actually paid money to have this study. And we wonder why there is no money for real research.
66 years old, rising psa for 10 years from 4 to 40; 12 biopsies and MRIS all negative. Oct 2009 DXed with G6 <5%. Color Doppler biopsy found 2.5 cm G4+3. Combidex clear. Seeds and IMRT, 4 weeks of urinary frequency and urgency; no side affects since then. 2 years of psa's all at 0.1.

It also perpetuates the impression that the only use for ED meds is to get laid, and often.

When I leave the uro with a few boxes of samples, you should see the looks on peoples faces if they see the label. You would think I was lining up at Miss Alice's house of pleasure.
