Just got back from Uro's office. Found out my appt was for 840 anyway and we got there at 830. As soon as he saw the length of discoloured cath exiting the SP hole, he knew that the cath must have got pulled too hard at some point. The balloon was wedged into the bladder wall blocking the inlet. I may have rolled over too much on my left side when I took a nap yesterday, and pulled it without realizing it. The balloon of course, kept the cath from pulling but, but with blocked inlets, would explain why 9 attempts at irragating didnt work.
He expected problems getting a new one in, but thank goodness, the old one came out with minimal pain (they always hurt no matter what), and the new one went in easier with less pain than normal. Once properly in place, he irragated the new one to make sure there wasnt any lingering gunk near the new inlets and made sure I was flowing fine.
I didnt have the problem till I woke from the nap, so I m sure that was the cause. My SP inlet is on my left side (being a die hard lefty) and exits about 2 inches bellow and to the left of my belly button. So if I turn on my left side to sleep, I always have to be careful not to snag the cath tube anyway.
In a seperate post, I will tell you about what we discussed for the future, as we both feels its time to do something for a perm fix to give me better quality of life. I fully agree. He does feel that I wont get a good nature healing from the radiation damage as we had hoped.
My next (3rd) post SRT PSA test will be done on August 3rd, a little later than expected but doesnt really matter. Took some pain pills and ditropan, and drinking lots of liquid. Very tired and shaky, got a total of less than 2 hours sleep through the night. Will check in later and post about the rest of the visit and future thinking.
