You will maybe notice there's some small changes being made, as Peter continues to update and improve the software. Today the New Topic and Reply buttons are larger and a little different color, and maybe another feature- Print Thread button- added. So take a little more time before clicking to be sure you are not on some of the new stuff.

Another new function, which affects ALL Forums, yes, including us, is Signature size limits. The PCa Forum has had special allowance to have larger/longer signatures, but with the new software, those sigs will no longer be able to exceed 400 letters. So it's time to start experimenting and editing down some of the really long ones, you know who you are, that tell a couple chapters of your Journey in your signature. Truthfully, there's no need for every details of your journey and pre and post treatments to be posted, so look at it as a challenge to see how much info you can get into 400 characters and still tell the essence of your story. The signatures have really gotten out of hand and Peter is needing to start some kind of limitation so it doesn't become such an unreasonable piece of the website. Now, a little honey with the medicine. 400 character limits will apply to all new signatures and to any that are changed or updated. But I would encourage each of us to look hard at ours and see if we can get them under the limits, as a helpful example to others and to Peter. Being the nice and helpful guy he is, he has volunteered to help those with really big or long ones to reduce them, by editing them down himself at a later date, if need be. smilewinkgrin devil mad tongue

James,

Where you go to make changes to your signature has looked weird for weeks. Now there are all kind of weird symbols in front and behind of the actual data. If I try to back space to make changes, it wipes out entire sections at the time. I agree about the long signature bit, some have become novelleas. I am not sure how to work on mine without messing up the entire thing.

James, scratch that request. I figured out how to work around it. Think my signature is down to 300 characters or less, was able to condense it some more

I'm having problems revising mine. Every time I hit backspace it wipes out a huge amount. I may have to copy and paste to Word, make changes, and reverse the process.

Mel

63 years old . PSA-- 3/08--2.90; 8/09--4.01; 11/09--4.19 (Free PSA 24%),  after 45 days on cipro! DREs have always been normal. PCA-3 was about 75 (way above the 35 threshold). That led to:

Biopsy on 11/30/09. 5 out of 12 cores positive. Gleason 4+3. 2 cores were 3+3 (one 5% and the other 30%) on one side. On  other side:2 cores are 4+3 (5%)--1 core 3+4 (30%) no peri-neural invasion. prostate is 45 grams. Stage: T1C.

Surgery with Dr. Menon at Ford Hospital, 1/26/10. He says all looked good. Spared nerves. Unfortunately: Pathology Report: G 4+3 (65%-35%). Cancer in 15% of gland. Lymph Nodes: Clear.  Perineural Invasion: yes. Seminal Vessical Involvement: No.  Extraprostatic Extension: yes.  Positive Margin: Yes-- focal-- 1 spot .5mm. Final Weight is 52.7 gms.  (Second opinion from Jon Epstein at Hopkins confirmed these results)

Incontinence: joined that club-- definite leaks—1 pad/day. Night is dry, was  using 1 pad at night for security, but pretty much dispensed with that most nights. Update: no pads at night. No pads while at home, but still very uncomfortable. Use 1 pad for out-of-house activities. Suddenly got MUCH better on 3/10/10, almost overnight. Still some urgency but no pads about 90% of the time.  As of 3/12/10--completely continent! Uh...OH. As of about 3/16/10 problems with constant urgency although no pads needed--feels like an infection but none showing in urine.

Update: since late March all is well in that area. I would say 99.9% continent (a spurt here and there, maybe 5 spurts per week). As of 6/22/10, I would say I am 100% continent, but I do have (controllable) significant urgency.

First post-op PSA on 3/10/10--DRUM ROLL: 0.01 Next PSA in mid-June.

Second post-op PSA on 6/21/10--0.02--Not too bad!

Mel, that's what I did to circumnavigate the issue. Just wrote a new one in word, cut and pasted to HW, worked fine.

Steve, I was using IE 7 on Windows 7 Home Premium. When I went to do it at HW, it did what others have said, it would keep trying to delete entire sections away. I just "erased" it all, went to Word, made a new one, and then the old school copy and pasted back to HW, then submitted it, and it works fine.

Cajun Jeff - the easiest route I found was to copy the original text and paste it on a separate writing programme that could could words and characters ( letters) - and when all said and done, just copy and paste it into the signature segment on "my profile"...
-it does make you think of what is important in your journey - in the book of life we are all being revised!smilewinkgrin
-all the best

Well, I had to cut like mad.
I understand the reason for shortening signatures, but it was tough.
I THINK I got it done.
I'm about to find out.
