A new member "patcharoni" posted in a very old thread where she might be missed. Her husband has been diagnosed with a pretty high PSA and gleason 8 tumour and she naturally has a number of concerns. Welcome to a great forum "Patcharoni".
"Zufus' suggestion of checking out the stories of members on YANANOW is good advice. There can be much comfort in reading of others who have trod the same path and reading of their treatments and outcomes:

Biopsy

4 of 10 cores positive for Adenocarcinoma-------bummer!
Core 1 <5%, core 2----50%, core 3----60%, core 4----50%
Biopsy Pathologist's comment:
Gleason 4+3=7 (80% grade 4) Stage T2c
Neither extracapsular nor perineural invasion is identified
CT scan and Bone scan show no evidence of metastases
Da Vinci RP Aug 10th 2007

Post-op

Positive for perineural invasion and 1 small focal extension
Negative at surgical margins, negative node and negative vesicle involvement
Some 4+4=8 identified ........upgraded to Gleason 8
PSA Oct '07 <0.1 undetectable
PSA Jan '08 <0.1 undetectable
PSA April '08 <0.001 undetectable (disregarded due to lab "misreporting")
PSA August '08 <0.001 undetectable (disregarded due to lab "misreporting"-----it is not possible for any lab to get a reading of less than .003)

Post-op pathology rechecked by new lab:

Gleason downgraded to 4+3=7
Focal extension comprised of grade 3 cells
PSA September '08 <0.01 (new lab)
PSA February 09 <0.01
PSA May '10 <0.01

Billy,
Good eyes, there.

Patcharoni,

Welcome. As the standard goes, sorry you have need to be here, but welcome.

I am a DaVinci + IGRT case. Please add on here, or start a new thread. We try to help where we can (not being medical professionals, it is mostly our own experience).

Thanks BillyMac it is more than interesting to see what various journies are, shows us just how individualized PCa can be in some areas, and how alike in some other areas. Plus anybody herein can post their bio-history 'experieinces/mentors' section, you can update it in real time and that is what is useful to others, to see what things people have done..how they responded...whom they hired...how they coped with whatever and more. Been updating mine for 8 years, thus far.

Here is my story and it is likely unique...I admit to being a rebel...but with a big cause (LOL).

Dx-2002 total urinary blockage, bPsa 46.6 12/12 biopsies all loaded 75-95% vol.; Gleasons scores 7,8,9's (2-sets), gland size 35 normal, ct and bone scans appearing clear- ADT3 5 months prior to radiations neutron/photon 2-machines, cont'd. ADT3, quit after 2 yrs. switched to DES 1-mg, off for 1 yr., controlled so well, resumed, using intermittently, pleased with results

Great to hear from someone that far away...any huge differences in treatment protocols vs. what you see here in the USA???? Curious as to what other countries do and offer.

Ok I figured out how to get onto your forum and post (blog) message at the 'test category' for first time users to say hello.  If you wish to get into this site, search the options at the top and eventually you will find within one of them a choice for language (English), select this or you are in the dark as to what to do. You create a screen name, profile, etc. and they email you a password that is needed into order to get on there. I finally figured it out, I cannot decipher their language, but with the English option made it easy to see how to post something.

Rakar-
In your case you did radiations(37 sessions?), have 28 biopsies, where you given Zoladex as HT therapy too?
Is your current psa at .61 ng/ml after .08 in 2009? Trying to decipher your information, and Gleason scores where what? (surely not 1 & 2?)

Thanks for dropping in here.
Thanks for the website I love the concept name Gladiator....says it all...beats our versions of warrior, fighter, survivor!(a little bit)   yeah
