My wife and I, along with Sonny and his lovely wife, Lynne, just ended our visit together at our house.  They got in about 1030, and I picked them up and drove all of 3 blocks to my house.  We had a great time.  It's our second get together, and I will attest again, they are the real thing.  We really enjoyed the visit.  It was about 2 AM when we took them back to their beautiful motor home.  My wife enjoyed the tour of their home away from home.  They will be leaving way early in the morning, continuing on their northbound trip.  We really appreciate the effort they went through to make this visit possible, especially right before my big surgery.

I hope they have a wonderful time with  their many stops ahead, and Sonny is ready for Worried Jeff's Big Get Together.  We talked, and if Jeff does it a 3rd time (hint), I hope to be in good shape and will make a guest appearance next year.  We talked too, about setting up a Southern Meet later winter or early spring.

If you ever get the chance to meet this couple, it will be a treat you will always remember.

David, your post made me smile. I know that you are very pleased that your friends have made the effort to visit with you before your big day. We all wish you well on Thursday event! I think a southern GFMPH gathering would just be great!

Jeff,

We talked about a Southern Meet last night, perhaps late winter or early spring. Either here in SC, because we aer the halfway point between NY and FL, or in Orlando - advantage there: major air hub city and 10 million things to do with all the FL attractions. We are open to any input.

They were hitting the road early this morning, by 0730 I think. No one got much sleep last night, but I think all would agree, it was time well spent.

I'm sure the visit was valued time. Orlando was a choice for last year and I think we could get a group together as well as what Sonny was hoping for a gathering for the Wives as well.

Good luck tomorrow David, I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you during the day.

I think I can speak for all of us in wishing you the very best.

A southern get together is a great idea, esp if held in the winter. ;)

Oh dear. You did tell them I'm just a quiet, unassuming person from way up north?

My thoughts will be with you tomorrow.

Talk soon,
