I happened to take a look at the "signature" thread today and found this from 10/3....
Hello from Canada. Newly diagnosed. Just became a new member. Thought I'd looked after myself but stage 4 PCa ?? Looking for a lifeboat of like-minded people. Any constructive ideas welcome. Considering a clinic in Mexico or Houston. Thx in advance. Keith

Diagnosed Aug.10 during annual routine physical
PSA from 2008 from 2.0 to 240
8 biopsies - an infiltrating poorly differentiated prostatic adenocarcinoma
Gleason 5+4=9
no definite lymphatic or vascular involvement .no definite perineural involvement. no definite seminal vesicle glands involved.
bone scan : foci of metastases thruout axial/appendicular skeleton
Rx: ADT (no joy) psa 2.3
doesn't look like anybody has responded, so I wanted to get this out in the open. Welcome Resource--------yes, your stats are not the greatest, but we have a lot of guys here with similar stories, and some with very advanced numbers who are fighting and doing well. Now that we found out about you, we'll try to help as best we can.

Your stats make mine look like a walk in the park, so I wouldn't know where to start.
I'll just have to settle with a strong "Welcome". We are always sorry to see new "members", but will offer whatever support we can.

welcome to the club my friend. We have lots in common. Even though the diagnosis is not great there is still lots of life left. Please share with us the protocol the doctors are advising

My PSA at diagnosis was 16.3
age 47 (current)


My gleason score from prostate was 4+5=9 and from the lymph nodes (3 positive) was 4+4=8
I had 44 IMRT's
I was on Lupron, Casodex, and Avodart for two years with my last shot March 2009. I am currently (7-22-2010) not on any medication.
My Oncology hospital is The Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion IL
PSA July of 2007 was 16.4
PSA May of 2008 was.11
PSA July 24th, 2008 is 0.04
PSA Dec 16th, 2008 is .016
PSA Mar 30th, 2009 is .02
PSA July 28th 2009 is .01
PSA OCt 15th 2009 is .11
PSA Jan 15th 2010 is .13
PSA April 16th of 2010 is .16
PSA July 22nd of 2010 is .71
Testosterone keeps rising, the current number is 156, up from 57 in May

T level dropped to 37 Mar 30th, 2009
cancer in 4 of 6 cores

Trying to bump this thread back to the top for another try. I hope we didn't scare "Resource" by not responding initially........like I said, it looks like he posted in the signature section (sticky). Has some serious issues that he was asking for help on............hope the guys who are in the weeds on this and knowledgeable can help.

Hi Keith and welcome to our site. Much like 142, I'm a little lost for
words. I'm your fellow Country man (West Coast - B.C.) and I'm sorry to read
that you're in such a serious situation. I'm not knowledgeable enough to give
you any advise, but hopefully some of our better educated member will chime in
soon and are able to give you some encouragement.

PSA tests in 2008: Mar.=.04; Jun.=.05; Sept.=.08; at SRT Start=0.1, Salvage RT completed (33 days-66Gy) 19 Dec 08
PSA: in Jan 09 =.05, all tests to date (Jul 10) <.04
