It's verified now.  Sunday afternoon, here at my home in Easley, SC,  Worried Jeff and his lovely wife are planning an afternoon visit with my wife and I.  They are northbound from FL back towards home in NY.  Won't be able to go out to dinner or anything like that, but we are looking forward to meeting them.

Every brother I have met through HW has been a real treat, and I am sure this is no different.  We already have a common friend, among others, in Mikey1955 in Canada.

Weather suppose to be dry in the low 80s here in Western SC, so should be a good time.  Something for me to look forward to.

David in SC

PS  In theory, planning on making the meet in LA in April with Cajun Jeff.  I will have to fly, but that's no biggie from here

Have a great time. if that is the Jeff that cooks so well you might just go out and get groceries the night before and leave the cooking to him.

Hey David,

Hope you and your wife have a good visit Sunday. Worried Jeff is a great guy and although I only briefly met his lovely wife, I must say she has to be a great gal to allow 5 other somewhat unknown men (one being some kind of foreign alien, I think the term was) to stay unsupervised at her home for the weekend.

Say hi to them for me.

Talk soon.

Mike

We are ready for the trip up to Rochester NY from Ft Lauderdale via Easley.
The oil is changed, our bags are (almost) packed and the car is gassed.
We're good to go.
We'll spend Saturday 10/9 night in Savannah and Sunday night in Easley. The rest of the trip is free form. Anyone interested in a meet up? Just have to be back in NY by Friday morning at 6 AM.

Michael I'm not the Cookin', Cajun Jeff. I'm the leakin', shootin' GFMPH Jeff.

Here's a safety tip for any of you along the Atlantic coastline. For the first time in 2 years, I went swimming in the ocean at Pompano beach today - sans pee pad. It was nice...

David, I'd be a little worried about this visit ---- Jeff is heading "home" to NY from Ft. Lauderdale in October? Not just NY --- Rochester NY !

I think the reason he has to be home by 6 a.m Friday is he doesn't have his snow tires with him.

I've heard of snow birds that go south for the winter. Never of north birds who head north for the winter. Hmmmmm?

David,

We are in Savannah! We're on our way! Can't wait!

Jeff

Sheldon,
We find that things are much cheaper if we fly in the opposite direction of the snowbirds.
Besides, in second week in October the snow is not too bad. Certainly less than a foot. No problem. ;-)

from a SC point of view, Savannah is much further than Charleston from where I live, and we refer to Savannah as a mini-Charleston.

Savannah has the second largest St. Patricks Day in the country each year, many don't know that.

Did you get the picture form the GFMPH gathering ? I must say, it is one of the neatest pictures I have ever been in. I am so pleased to be included in that group.

We just got in from visiting with David. Surprisingly he does not sound at all like me. Isn't everyone's voice exactly like mine?
We had a nice visit and a great supper with a wide variety of foods. We even got to meet his daughter and son in law. And we got to see the Pink Cupcake!
I can sleep easy.
Our trek up north continues tomorrow. Time for bed.
Good night David!
Thanks for your hospitality.

Jeff and Barb, my wife and I, and my daughter and son in law, had a great get together at our house. Jeff and wife, great and gracious couple. The two wives got along great. Jeff and I had had a whole more in common from our pasts, included being left handed and former programmers of Assembler back in the day.

We shared over 5 hours together, and my daughter brought a full dinner, and Jeff and them did too, so there was a feast. Too bad I had the appititee of a sparrow. My daughter made her famous black bean soup with Andoulie Cajan sausage. Too spicy for me, but a big hit.

Jeff is just another example of some of the high quality men I have met from HW. I feel like we parted as friends for life.

David,

We made it home safe and sound. The weather was absolutely perfect the whole way and the car worked fine. I'm sure it has been 15 years since the car has been above 50 mph and the throttle opened more than 25%. Three tankfuls of gas with injector cleaner and the car is working like a champ. The idle got smoother as I drove.
This car is a keeper.
I hope you are recovering well. You deserve a break.
