A colleague at work just told me about his father's situation. The father had PCa surgery ten years ago. His PSA has been monitoring every 2-3 months, and suddenly "spiked" a month ago. The cancer has spread and he has maybe a month to live.

I'm sure there is more to the story, and I wonder about the accuracy some of the details. I do think my colleague is telling all he knows, so that's what I know. I will guess at some of the missing details--the surgeon knew he didn't remove all the cancer, HT and maybe radiation was also used, and this is as far as he got.

Realistically, I guess most guys on here expect that day will come for many of us. I realize not statistically perhaps, but I with my Gleason 9 figure it will.

That is why I have dedicated my time to doing the things I have wanted to do, making sure I tell those I love how I feel, and make sure that each day I am thankful for the day.

This is just reality. Sorry for your colleague.

Thanks, Dave and Goodlife.

My colleague did say that his father is in good spirits. Hopefully he will go the way he wants to go.

very sad news for sure. Certainly it is something that is always in the back of your mind when you have cancer. I too live each day to the very fullest I can. I do hope when that day comes that I have completed what I think my task on earth are.

prayers to those who know the gentleman you speak of

peace to you
