After my RC (Radical Cysectomy) or removal of the bladder/prostate, I of course wore a Foley cath for a while. But I was leaking like a sieve during that time. Mucas would plug up the cath and I would leak outside the cath. Even when I was not plugged up, I would leak and go through 5-6 man pads a day even with a Foley.
When they took the foley out, I knew I was going to be incontinent. I went through kegals, electric stymulation for weeks on end. It never changed. I found out about condum caths laying on my bed with my lap top. Total dispare.
I wore condum caths and a leg bag during the day time and used a larger night bag when I slept for one year and a half. During the night, I still would get up every two hours and drain my bladder, not trusting I would drain into the night bag. When you lay flat, the probability of kinks or lack of gravity flow may cause me to leak. More than once Iwoke up to being soaked. I got really good at it over time and limited leakage day or night to a rare occurance.
I wore Depends, Kroger (house brand) large pads at all times, 24/7.
Since Wed, my activation day, I feel naked not wearing all that stuff. It is amazing. I hardly leaked at all, maybe not at all. I stood for four hours Thanksgiving day at a Salvation Army kitchen and did security with no problems. went to a movie last night, and had no issues. Drove home then voided even though I had a large coke.
I slept 4 hours last night, then voided, slept another 4 then voided again. I probably did not need to. But did anyway.
This device is so easy to use, I am in a little bit of disbelief. I was really worried.
