sounds like you can now change the subject line from "This Sucks...." to " This Sorta Sucks". Glad that you are seeing some sunshine. And, Yes, this is a good place to let it out as almost everybody here can relate in some degree what you are going though. Yeah, some work outdoors sounds good.

Volv. As I noted in "this sucks 2".. You know you have to be there for your wife and kid. Life is bigger than me, bigger than you. Alot of what you are IS THEM.

And beyond family and friends you now how countless others on theis board alone who are pulling for you, who care what happens. None of us can keep you alive for ever - and really not sure anyone would want that.

Screw death, LIFE is inevitable! I've got a saying I used long before I was DX with pca "I plan on living life while i'm alive". I hope you do just that!

I like the change of perspective you display today. It still SUCKS, you will still have days where that is all you can see. But you cannot allow that to consume you. Let the life you have do that!

Best of luck, keep us posted.

P.S. I found that walking a few miles a day allowed me to sort things out better, and was really, really helpful to my state of mind. Keep busy living.

Volv,
Yippee! A new day has dawned. . . been checking daily to see your posts and as I mentioned before, I was looking forward to hearing from you. You are not the first or last to have a well-deserved pity party and it probably won't be your last one- but today we celebrate with you the ray of hope and overcoming attitude that pushes us forward. Sounds like you have a good support system. I'm sure you have been there for them in their time of need.
Definitely get yourself back in your shop and don't be too hard on yourself when you get tired.
Since you have the time, take a minute and start making your "signature" on your profile-like you see on the bottom of our posts. It helps us follow your story.
Blessings!

CareBear

Fantastic.  Please keep us posted on your progress.  I believe once we are diagnosed with cancer we sometimes forget the good things in our lives.  Happy you are moving forward.

Thanks to all the guys they helped me put my head back on facing foward.

Volv:

So this party is over for now! Great!  We have all attended to those kind of parties before,  but not the kind anyone wants to show up at TOO often. nono Thrilled to hear a positive change in your written voice.  Continue to get out there and detail those cars. You may find that you get tired as h---  after a short while but that was normal for me.  Napping is good even for twenty minutes daily. Changes in continence occur regularly,  sometimes a step forward and two back (if you drink a lot of coffee as I did - even de-caff).  But you will notice an improvement with exercise,  no matter what kind.  That is what made recovery quicker for me.  Walk Walk Walk!  Keep us posted but I suggest you change the title of your post now Volv.  It doesn't seem to fit any longer. All the best for the new year!

(Carebear, why not look for one of your old posts, you will find your "old" signature there, then all you have to do is copy and paste the dates etc from that without having to look them up)

Welcome to the pity party club. I think at one time or another we have all been members and resigned only to join again at a later date. This site has done wonders for my mental health. If on my visits here I'm been feeling down I find others who have more problems then I have and I hand in my resignation.
All of this reminds me of my first meeting with Compassionate Friends ( a support group for people who have lost children) after the death of our 13 year old. When everyone had told their reason for attending it put things in perspective for me. One woman told of losing her daughter and young grandchild in a car crash and another told of losing one son to a traffic accident and a few years later her other son hanged himself.

I wish that 2011 brings everyone here the healing of all their physical issues and no more new members. That would be one GREAT year.
Got to go my 2 dogs are calling. What a great life they have, eat, sleep, urinate, defecate and then just wag their tails and get all the affection they can handle.

I'm glad your feeling better I'm sure we have all had our pitty parties I know I have. Kind of hard to explain to two coworkers why they had to work 12 hour shifts because I was feeling sorry for myself. But I'm glad glad that you decided to grab the bull by the horns and fight this thing. You can and will win. You have a whole team behind you. I hope you rescheduled your Dr's appointments as they are part of your team as well.

Volv, glad you took the time to bring us up-to-date.  I wish you the very best in your physical recovery and mental outlook.  I am glad you are feeling better!

Gerry, are you still spoiling those beautiful dogs of yours?  Ron has a PSA test coming up in February.  We're hoping for zero!

CareBear, congratulations to your husband on the PSA 0.01.  That's reason to celebrate without a holiday!

Take care everyone,

Yes I am spoiling Grace and Mojo but they do keep me active. One of them is always asking to go for a walk. I see them getting together in the corner and one of them will come trotting over and sit by the door which is the signal for a walk. We get back and within a few hours the other one will do the same thing. I always walk them together so no matter which one asks they both get to go. Even after coming in from running around our yard one of them will want to go for a walk. This starts around 7:00 AM everyday 7 days a week. Rain or Holidays mean nothing to either of them. All of this goes on until Lilly gets home from work when she insists on taking over the walking duties. She says it gives her some "Pack Leader" time with them.
I think Lilly had a conversation with them when I got home after my hospital stay and told them to keep active. They sure listened and I think some times go overboard. turn

Please tell Ron lilly and I both wish him a 0.00.

Volv- Rescue dogs or dogs are the best cheap therapy and pals you can get!

Now hey...your 'car' isn't dead and your battery is low right now but still cranks over....ya know what I'm sayin'...(lol)....lift the hood (English guys- Bonnett) and see the motor is still there and does run. You know how to work on this beast, tune it up, polish it and get your motor runnin'...head out on the highway...lookin' for adventure...in what ever comes our way...(LOL)...or the Springstein version...'Tramps like us baby we born to run'...

Or the Eagles version "Get it over it"

We will...we will...Rock You (at H.W. forums)
