OK guys here is the official invite and kickoff for the GFMPH.
Event Date: April 15 - April 16 2011
location: Baton Rouge, LA
Who can attend:  All members on HW Prostate Cancer forum

I am hosting the event at my home.  The guys that attended the Fall Version at Worried Guys house asked if we could do a spring version in Louisiana.

Many guys have indicated that they will bring their wives with them.  My wife has secured another house for the ladies to crash if they wish.  The guys can stay at our home.  If you so desire you can feel free to stay at a local hotel near my house. I do have rooms blocked if you want.

My wife has planned a Saturday trip for the Wives touring the Plantation Homes in the area.

Guys I am still working on a short event for us.  The big part of the visit is to get to know your brothers in PCa.  We will Eat, Drink and be Merry.  Get to know the guys that you chat with all the time.  If Paul is able to attend he will conduct a workshop on ED treatments.

If your planning on attending please shoot me an e-mail for me to work on Plans

Jeff, think my health wont be an issue, but money may. Got a lot of financial iron in the fire right now, if any of them finalize, money wont be a problem.

Jeff,
Beth and I are very tempted, although it's a long way from Chicago to Baton Rouge.  Her interest jumped up when she heard about the plantation tour.

Several other conflicts need to be resolved, though, including possibly having to be in New Jersey to help our daughter and her Air Force pilot husband and their 3 littles ones get ready for their next move.  There's also a possibility I may be having surgery on my cervical spine (hope I can avoid that).

The GFMPH sounds really cool, though, but at this point the best I can do is say we're very interested.

Good luck with the planning.

Jeff,

We're coming! We'll be flying so we can't bring anything that makes loud noises, so any booming noises will be from our laughter.

The ED seminar makes the trip tax deductible. (Education, Medical, Non Profit) I'm sure the resident tax expert, David, can fill us in on the IRS ruling. ;-)

I learned a lot from Paul. Who knew there were so many different kinds of pumps? (I'll bring my TENS unit, with brand new sealed in the package leads, if anyone wants to try it for pelvic floor stimulation.)
We will also be able to compare sling results with AUS.
I can't wait to see what color scheme a certain individual decided to tint his scrotum to avoid confusing "Come" and "Go". ;-)

See you soon!
Jeff

I am so pleased that You and Barb will be headed south. I am in the process of securing the shuttle service to the ariport. LOL I have such fond memories of the GFMPH at your house. I know I can not top it but really hope that we will be able to come close. ;)

Best of luck with your surgery on the 10th

Jeff, breaking my self imposed exile from posting, just had to chime in on this one.

I will most assuredly be there. Won't know til we get close whether or not Lynn can make the trip.

Save my spot in the driveway please. If Lynn can't make the trip I will have an extra bed in the RV for someone.

Can't wait to see you and the rest of the guys again,

Hey Jeff,

Dee and me are planning to be there. Haven't decided on driving or flying, yet. If we're bringing another rv, would love some basic electrical hookup. I'll call cousin Eddy to take care of the rest of the hookups.

Hope all the last GFMPH crew will be there.

Hope you all have a great new year!

Mike, this meeting would be one way we could get together at last. That's another incentive for me. My only hope is a cheap flight, can't do long road trips anymore. Would sure like to see you and the rest of the HW gang, especially any of the brothers I haven't met yet.

Hey David,

Look forward to finally meeting you in person. Hope you can come. As I said, don't know if I'm flying or driving, yet.

What I'd really like to do is take the time off work and spend 2-3 weeks on a round trip, get some more use out of my rv...with Jeff's La Spring Fest GFMPH in the middle. Working on getting the time off...my batteries are getting a bit low and would love a proper vacation.

All my best,

Mike
-Nov/Dec 07, March 08 and Dec 08: Severe perineum pain . Septra/Bactrim for 8 months for diagnosed prostatitis.
-PSA start of 2008: 5.3..... PSA June of 2008: 7.3
-14 DRE all benign or nothing felt
-TRUS Biopsy Nov 08: 5 of 8 cores positive GS 3+3 or 6. 30-65%. Perineural invasion.
-General Health: pretty good, 5' 10", 180 lbs, slim.
-Open RP surgery: May 09 both nerve bundles spared. Bilateral lymph node dissection performed. Discharged 48 hours after surgery.
-Post Surgery Pathology: pT3a N0 MX, extraprostatic extension (EPE), stage III prostate cancer, lymph nodes clear, seminal vesicles clear, Gleason upraded to 3+4 GS 7. EPE within surgical margins. Other than prostate and EPE, all tissue removed negative for cancer involvement.
-Bladder control within 48 hours of catheter removal
-ED ongoing but improving. ED oral meds didn't do much initially. TRIMIX was working very well. Initial dose of 0.1 mL too much. Had priapism at 0.075 mL that ended up in a humiliating ER visit. Doses recently after 50% dilution by Uro about 0.025 mL or less. Don't use Trimix anymore...I'm too sensitive to it, even at very low doses and the Alprostadil is pretty consistent in causing erection pain...had a few episodes of 3+ hour wood with pain.
-Levitra now starting to work at low doses of 5 mG to 10 mG. Sometimes the side effects like stuffy nose aren't fun...sometimes OK.
-Was supposed to see ED doc last week, but due to his schedule, will now be late August. Will discuss bimix with him.

Well I can not take the credit for the name but will try my best to explaine:

G F M P H

Good For Men's Prostate Health

Example of the use.

Man to his Wife

Wife I really would like to get that new Corvette, you know it is GFMPH!  yeah
Sure husband I think you should have one.  LOL

The gathering is simplay a way for our guys and in this case the wives to get together and get to know each other.  The Men will have a workshop on ED Treatments,   some discussion about HT,  incontenance or the Sling and AUS,  and ways to deal with PSA anxiety.  But most of all celebrating the fact that we have found friends like us that are fighting the PCa and living life to the fullest. smilewinkgrin tongue
