I had open RP 4 weeks ago today
Everything is healing nicely
I have a scar from navel down about as low as you can go

At the bottom, just under the skin there is a bump a little smaller than a dime
Definitely a different structure than the vertical scar

Anyone else have this?
What is it and will it go away?
Age at diagnosis 48

If very small probably can be ignored.

i don't think that's it - I had a hernia once - this is more like a small hard bump under the skin - and down south, not near the navel

Maybe where they tied up the stitches? I would ask the surgeon.

I did have a small "knot" that went away, where the internal stitches ended, and they did the outer layer with superglue. They told me the internals were very heavy. I did have a couple of fragments push out through the skin as they dissolved and broke up - was about 3 months out from DaVinci.

But asking the doc is best - you paid for it.

.

Right at the base of the scar, I have what I could call another Belly-Button.

It is as though they used a staple gun to rivet my tummy to the bone..  Isn't it funny - My scar looks like the Suez-Canal just before being flodded.. . Other scars are just so neat.

Relatively soon after the op. I did develop a 'Bubble' which did split to reveal an infection..   Appropriate Anti-Biotics fixed that up in about 4 days.

I don't think the surgeons care much about we guys...  They make sure that the women are left with petite-scars, so they can wear their  Bikinis...  With us men, it is like they want us to look like we took a land mine in Afghanistan.  confused

..

PS - What was you Post-Op Path's  .
