If I wasn't having enough fun, it appears as though I may have a hernia. Two docs would work on me, the urologic surgeon and a GI guy.

Anybody else experience this?

My litany of amusement:
PCa
epididmytous
prostatitus
broken leg/stress fracture from preparing for first surgery
1st doc ignored my UTI and was well on the road to killing me
a biopsy that hurt like hell

and now a likely hernia.
52 yr old, PSA 3.5, Gleason 6 with 3 of 4 top nodes (0%;1%;10%;1%) cancerous. Bottom 2 floors are clean.

DaVinci prostatectomy scheduled for March 4 at Yale. Lets hope attempt 2 at this goes better than my first try.

My patch from a previous hernia repair was removed during my surgery. It appears my bladder or bowl(something with a B) had attached itself to the patch and was in the way. Lucky for me my surgeon had run into this about 50 times, so he had some experience at it.
As I always say"Go big or stay home" and that's going big! At least you won't have to go through the same pain twice!

I had an umbilical hernia repair at same time as RRP. the uro did his job then the general surgeon stepped up and did his job that took him 12 minutes and recieved $1200 for. Was GREAT! same recovery time as the RRP and my belly buttom looks normal again...well except for the large ugly scar that leads down to the limp noodle
age 44 when diagnosed 45 now
RRP 9-28-10
gleason 3+3
pathology report clear
11-1-10 PSA 0.02
3 month 0.00
bladder control good
Osbon pump works but uncomfortable to use ring
some noctural erections, but not very strong, more like hanging looser and/or lower
tried all oral meds and nothing yet
Dr. R. Saint in Tulsa did my procedure, I do NOT recomend him!!

I have scars all around my belly button from hernia & daVinci surgeries. I can't wait till the pool opens and I have to explain all the scars.
But wait....Can you wear a manty shield in the pool? It's ok , it's my pool!

My younger brother had testicular cancer about 6 years ago. Stage 3, and he had an operation 2 days after the diagnosis. The doc pulled a few lymph nodes and he has a 10 inch scar from his belly button up to just under his breast plate.

Every time I see that scar it reminds me of what he went thru and how glad I am that he is alive.

Wear the scars with pride, you earned them!

I too had an umbilical hernia repair...12 months before PC surgery.

Two surgerys suck, but I'd have a hard dealing with both at the same time.

When I got my open surgery, I got a 2fer, the RP and a right side hernia repair. I couldn't really tell anything had been done to the hernia, other than it was gone.
