Greetings.

It is now going on week three post surgery. I feel pretty good, though I wish the tape hold my little incisions would wash off. They are kind of annoying rubbing on my shirt and the adhesive is turning a gross gray/black color. I am to much of a baby to just yank them off.

Last night I had my first beer!!!!!! A St Bernardus Wit. MMMMMMMM. I could have gone for 10 more.......I think I did pee at night a bit more, even though I had the beer at 6:00PM.

Today was the first time back on the elliptical trainer. I did three miles with slight resistance for about 20 minutes. I also went for a one mile walk during lunch.

My keggles have increased to 20 kisses, 5 sets of holds for five seconds and then 20 kisses again. Five times a day.

And for the first time in my adult life, I swallowed my first ED med, 20mg of Cialis. I'm awaiting anxiously for a boner, or at least something that will enhance my now smaller than a cocktail hot dog johnson.

I have a few questions about Cialis that maybe some of you could clarify: My Dr. put me on this to get "blood flowing" again. Will I be taking this forever, or is this just for the recovery weeks or months?

I am on high blood pressure meds (Amlodapine 5mg x 2 p/d, and Lisinopril 10mg 2 x p/d) as well as Allopurinol 300mg (for gout). I know that there shouldn't be to much interaction, though the cialis supposedly amplifies the effect of certain HB medication. Anyone taking similar to what I'm taking with any thoughts? On a weirder note, I've been having recurring dreams that I'm with some women and I have a hard-on, and the other recurring dream is that my car gets towed. Go figure.

Is it better to take Cialis with or without food? I figure since I take my HB meds in the AM and PM, I'd take the Cialis at lunch time.

Also, can you just go cold turkey with Cialis and ED meds, or do you have to gradually ween yourself off of them when and if the time comes.

Best to all of you.

W-O,. good questions. Well, Cialis for blood flow will be for a few months or maybe a year or more, depending on the success of it. At some point, if you don't regain function you will either move on to another pill, try injections, or just give up. Good choices, huh? Cialis can be taken any time, with or without food, it isn't food sensitive like Viagra. There's no weaning off period for any of the ED pills.

Now then, in addition to this, have you discussed with your doctor the use of a penis pump to further speed blood flow and as an aid to the pills? A good pump, used a couple times a day, for a few minutes will go a long way in getting things going and keeping tissue 'worked' out whether or not the pills work. Also, later, the use of injections can help further sped up recovery and even maybe regrowth of penile nerves. They are usually painless and very healthy as far as blood infuse, tissue stretching and the psych. benefit of just looking down at a nice firm erection again... tongue Any questions about all this?

I was told to wait 4 weeks for an erection ( i cheated ) and 6 weeks before running ( I waited 5 ).

The tape and glue will wash off soon enough. I also wondered when it would finally all vanish.

Don't wait for the boner, you need to invite it in by doing something. That's how Cialis works.

Hope you don't get the very painful muscle aches I got with Cialis. Luckily they went away after a week and now it all fine.

You'll feel your urethra stretching when you do get a boner. I'd suggest you go easy on it initially.

You must avoid nitrates when on Cialis. But that's about it.

I was taking 5mg a day when only for oxygenation, 10 mg sometimes, and when I know I'm going to have a fun night with my wife even the 20mg. They all work, but the higher the dose the better the boner right now ( i'm 7 weeks out of surgery ).

You can go cold turkey with cialis and if you want to try viagra or levitra you can. Jus not together.

I did the 20 mg of Cialis with horrendous backaches; prescription pain killers would not touch. Guess the pain masked the ability to get an erection. Switched to generic Levitra, minimal side effects, but can't tell that it helps either. Here's wishing you the very best of luck. PS: the VED does work, and with the use of bands, gives a workable erection.

how long did you try the Cialis for? My aches and pains, reminded me of growing pains, went away after a week ten days.

I used Cialis for several months post op. When I was able to sustain a 100% erection I started going solo. Sustain is the key word. For some time I needed constant stimulation to keep it up. I can get full erections now without the Cialis. It all depends on each individual. I did take Cialis when I knew a "session" was coming but my confidence grew when I was able to keep it up using my hands on my wife rather than on my erection.

I've been on the 5mg/day Cialis (ok, a 20mg cut up, so the 5 is a +/- dose) for just under a year, just for blood flow (they didn't try to spare the nerves).

I had to stop it during IGRT due to the low back pain, but there isn't a wind-down period that I've noticed.

Nerves being what they aren't, I have no expectations other than keeping willy from just dropping off in the night.

The pump (osbon) does what it says it will do, but it is an exercise for now.

As to the sutures / super glue - leave it alone. I did accidentally help one along, and had a small infection as a result. Like your mother said - don't pick at it. Put a bandaid over it if it is an issue.

I take a BP med similar to yours (benicar) - no apparent issues, and the GP is ok with the combo. The gout meds for me are intermittent, but no issues there either.

Tried Cialis 1 time. Was so achy, haven't had the courage to try it again. Maybe in a couple of weeks. Thanks for asking.

I'm taking Cialis now 10mg every 3 days. My Uro had me start a week after cath was removed. He also had me start using the VED pump a week out for therapy 10 minutes a day. Seems like every doc has a different routine.
Every once in a while, I feel a little movement, but for all I know "it's" just shifting around, getting more comfortable.
I too am taking lisinopril once a day in the morning. I have had no side effects for the Cialis.
Glad to hear your on your elliptical, been waiting to get back on mine so maybe I'll do that. My Uro never really said about any other exercise but walking. I need to start some thing cause with the weight loss,I may be starting to get me some man boobs!

Thanks everyone for your replies.

So far I don't have any of the side effects that some of you are or have experienced, with the exception of a tiny headache, but that could be in my head because I read that this may cause headache.

I did wake to go pee last night and noticed that willie was a little longer than it ad been since surgery. Not hard or anything, just...longer by an inch or two. A welcome sight, but short lived.

I haven't looked into or talked to uro about pump, maybe a vacuum cleaner could be a cheap substitute eyes

I'm not going to mess with the adhesive things. They'll come off at their own pace.

Thanks.

Possible solution for you to the headaches (worked for me) recommended by my doctor is to take two ibuprofens at the same time as the Cialis.

To your earlier questions on experiences/results, I started with the 20mg versions, but pretty quickly bought a pill cutter and thereafter took half a pill only with very good results (after getting past the first month or two of mediocre results).  In my first year, I would take one half pill going into the weekend and one mid-week (Hump Day).  By the time year #2 came around, I found myself sometimes forgetting to take the pill, yet still having good results.

There is wide variation in each individual's results.  Have patience.
